Enjoy a totally new perspective of the scenic Gauley River with a spring or summer trip. Water levels frequently change, making each trip a unique experience that may find you in a raft or a duckie. We closely monitor water levels to choose the section and the most suitable craft so that you will get the most exciting ride possible. It’s the best of the Gauley in the most exciting craft. With our new access point, we can take you to the best river sections for spring or summer whitewater excitement. What makes this trip great? It’s the most remote wilderness-like raft trip in the area. Our guide staff lives for this trip and loves sharing the experience with first timers and experienced paddlers. They are specially trained for these trips and have wonderful, helpful tips to make your day fun. This exciting technical challenge requires familiarity with moving water. The whitewater is class 3+ to 4 when using a duckie. This is more difficult than going in a paddle raft with a guide. We ask that everyone is in good physical condition and can swim. We reserve the right to change river section if we feel that you are not well suited to the rigors of this adventure. The water level is measured in cfs – cubic feet per second.
This is how it works: 250-800 cfs – Duckies will be used on either the Upper or Middle section (dependant on group’s experience) 850-10,000 – Rafts! 4, 6 or 8 man rafts on the Upper or Lower section. The lower the cfs the smaller the raft. Lunch and all safety equipment provided.
Airfare is not included in the tour price.
Rates vary depending upon day of the week, number of rafters and length of trip.
