Dinner is served. Enjoy the snugness of your bedroll!

Day 2: Sunday – Tootsee River Base Camp

Norm will prepare his famed breakfast and teach you more advanced skidoo skills, so you can safely enjoy the upcoming days. Adventure will take us above the tree line, High Mark Mountain, peaking at 2100 m. elevation. Continually rising trail, unfolds spectacular new vistas at each switchback. Our final climb brings us to a breathtaking view. Surrounded by the rugged Cassiar Mountains and magic boreal forests, we descend the steep terrain, of Eagle’s Gorge. A continuing descent returns us to Base Camp for hot showers and dinner.

Day 3: Monday – Tootsee River Base Camp

With your newly achieved skills, we take off on an expedition along the frozen, Tootsee River. Traveling, we encounter a double river crossing with an awesome view of the Granite Canyon. Lunch. The trail guides us to remote Tootsee Lake Camp. Deeper in the Cassiar Mountains. Camp, nestled on the shores, provides spectacular Aurora Borealis viewing. After cutting some firewood and settling into our comfortable Prospector Wall Tents (2 people per tent with wood floors, wood stoves, washing facilities and propane lights) at the base of Sheep Mountain. A trapper’s dinner over an open fire.

Day 4: Tuesday – Tootsee Lake Camp

The sun finds its way through the valley, tend your machine and camp. Cruise the lake, enjoying open terrain. Fish for, Lake Trout or Arctic Grayling? Overnight at Tootsee Lake Camp with dinner in the Native Tradition, accompanied by our daily catch? What a day!

Day 5: Wednesday – Tootsee Lake Camp

We tidy up camp to ensure that no wildlife will be attracted. Depart Tootsee Lake via Prospector Trail. A fabulous ride along the Tootsie River Valley. Experience enchanting canyon views! Lunch and awesome photo opportunities, continuing to overnight Tootsee River Base Camp.

An early breakfast, and we scout possible locations to capture wildlife, raw and untamed, on film (moose, lynx, wolverine, caribou and ptarmigan). This adventure takes us back into the Yukon and down into Rancheria River Valley, after 25km, we climb once again, to an unnamed mountain top, viewing the ravaged burn of the massive 50’s forest fire. Sighting our goal, we tackle the descent of “Billy Goat Gruffs’ Trail” to spectacular Shilskiy Lake.
