Lake Sibaya is situated on the seaward margin of the low-lying Mozambique plain in Eastern Mapautaland. It is the largest freshwater lake in South Africa, where you may experience an African Sunset. Invariably you might see Hippo's and even Crocodiles while you listen to the natural sounds of Africa. It also boasts many other types of life in and around it's waters including the Sibaya Goby. Some of the bird species to be found are the splendid Fish Eagle (what do they eat?), White Breasted Cormorant, Kingfishers, Hornbills and many more. In the coastal dunes which separate the lake form the sea the Red Duiker and the Vulnerable and elusive Suni can be found.
