These hiking tours are run each day to some of the most scenic mountainous areas of Scotland 's Southern Highlands, all within 2.5 hours drive from Edinburgh. All are within the capabilities of moderately fit people and you needn't be an experienced hillwalker.
We provide: Pick up and transport from Edinburgh, lunch on the hike, qualified mountain leaders and entertainment and excitement all day! Monday - Ben Lawers We start from about 400m up to Scotland's 10th highest mountain. A relatively easy day's hiking, despite the altitude. 1140m (3997ft) Situated on the north bank of Loch Tay, these mountains offer commanding views over the loch and northward to the Southern Highlands. Although Ben Lawers is almost one of Scotland 's 4000ft mountains, the ascent is straightforward and uses well defined paths that start some way up the mountain at The National Trust for Scotland Ben Lawers centre. Wednesday - Ben A'a A fine and easy hike with a fantastic view over Loch Katrine. 485 m (1450ft) This is a fine low 'mini mountain' overlooking Loch Katrine in the middle of the Trossach hills. As well as walking up Ben A'an, we will be exploring the moorland, forests and lochs of the Trossachs, a beautiful area of Scotland. Friday - Ben Lomond A long and steady hike up this famous mountain, overlooking Loch Lomond. 974m (3195ft) "I'll take the High Road ..." Ben Lomond stands alone, a solitary distinctive mountain on the eastern side of Loch Lomond. This is a relatively long day's walk with a gradual climb up the south ridge leading to the summit. The views are spectacular however, looking out over the Loch and to the many mountains further north. Notes: Minimum booking:
