Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 - COLLECTION Welcome to Guatemala! You will be collected from the airport and after a drive of around 45 mins you will arrive in Antigua and be taken to the Bikers Lodge. DAY 2 - RIDE AND CLIMB PACAYA This morning we will get straight into some riding to get used to the Bikes you will be using over the coming weeks. It's a 2hr ride out to the Volcan De Pacaya, this is where we leave the bikes and start our climb on foot. There are some amazing land formations and flowing lava to be seen. DAY 3 - ANTIGUA TO LAS LISAS We do not take a direct route to Las Lisas, we pass through many isolated villages with spectacular scenery of volcanoes and much more. Las Lisas is an underdeveloped beach resort that has it's own personal appeal. DAY 4 - LAS LISAS TO LAGO DE COATEPEQUE, EL SALVADOR Today we cross over the border to El Salvador, heading directly for the Mayan ruins of Tazumal. Our final destination today is Lago De Coatapeque which is a lake that was formed in the basin of a volcan crater DAY 5 - LAGO DE COATAPEQUE, EL SALVADOR TO COPAN HONDURAS Another border crossing, another destination. Our first stop in Honduras will be the city of Copan where we will spend the night before heading out to see the well known ruins of Copan the following day. DAY 6 - COPAN Today will involve many activities, horse riding, hot springs, thermal baths and certainly Copan ruins. DAY 7 - COPAN TO RIO DULCE, GUATEMALA This is another day of adventure riding, passing through disused train tracks and other obscure routes. Once we get to our destination of Rio Dulce we can go and visit the Castillo de San Felipe which is an old fort that sits on the river at the point where it meets Lake Izabal, a nice place to spend a few hours. DAY 8 - RIO DULCE Today we rest the bikes and travel by boat to the town of Livingston on the Caribean coast. We take a pleasant boat ride up the Rio Dulce to this colourful and interesting town of Livingston where we will spend a few hours exploring. DAY 9 - RIO DULCE TO BIOTOPO MARIO RESERVE This reserve has many well maintained tracks and trails which lead you through this amazing cloud forest, with a little luck you may get to see Guatemala's national bird, the Quetzal. DAY 10 - BIOTOPO MARIO RESERVE TO ANTIGUA Another full day of panoramic riding until we reach our destination of Antigua, where the tour finishes at 3pm. Notes: Included:
