Our lodge is situated about 30-mins south of Durban International Airport at Umkomaas on the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast. It has been purpose built to accommodate divers and the dive centre is on-site. The rooms all have fantastic ocean views, are all en-suite and are serviced daily. There is a swimming pool, Braai [BBQ] area and beach access. Each day the plan is to do 2-dives however it is possible to enjoy more than 2-dives, should the weather, sea and surf conditions permit. In the afternoons after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion to some of the local attractions. In the evenings you can enjoy a meal at the lodge or you can go to one of the many local restaurants and bars in the area. Day 1 : Arrive Durban -- Transfer to Lodge -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 2 : 2-dives Aliwal Shoal -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 3 : 2-dives Aliwal Shoal -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 4 : 2-dives Protea Banks -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 5 : 2-dives Protea Banks -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 6 : Tiger Shark Diving -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 7 : Airport Transfers to Durban International Airport. Detailed Itinerary Day 1 : Arrive Durban -- Overnight KZN South Coast. You will be met at Durban International Airport or other pick-up points as required. You can arrive at anytime during the day. You will be transferred [+/- 30mins] to your accommodation, where you will meet the team and spend the day relaxing. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 2 : 2-dives Aliwal Shoal -- Overnight KZN South Coast. An early morning rise for breakfast before two dives on the Aliwal Shoal. Situated about 5kms offshore from the town of Umkomaas on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast, it has been rated as one of the best sites in the world to see Ragged Tooth Sharks & Giant Guitar Sharks. In the afternoon after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 3 : 2-dives Aliwal Shoal -- Overnight KZN South Coast. An early morning rise for breakfast before two more dives on the Aliwal Shoal. In the afternoon after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 4 : 2-dives Protea Banks -- Overnight KZN South Coast. An early morning rise for breakfast before you travel south for two dives on the Protea Banks, situated about 7.5kms offshore from the town of Shelly Beach on Kwazulu Natal’s South Coast. The aim today is to dive with some of the many sharks on the Protea Banks and have upclose encounters with these fantastic creatures. The Protea Banks offer a great chance to see many different sharks including Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks, Bronze Whalers, Duskies, Guitar Sharks and more. In the afternoon after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 5 : 2-dives Protea Banks -- Overnight KZN South Coast. An early morning rise for breakfast before you travel south for two more dives on the Protea Banks. In the afternoon after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 6 : Tiger Shark Diving -- Overnight KZN South Coast. An early morning rise for breakfast before you head out to sea for the Tiger Shark diving on the southern end of the Aliwal Shoal. The Tiger Shark Dives will rate as one of the top-5 dives you will ever do!!! You launch from the Umkomaas River and travel south to the southern ledges of the Aliwal Shoal. Once the sharks arrive we enter the water to observe the sharks in their natural environment. In the afternoon after the diving you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a local excursion. In the evening you can have dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight ScubaAddicts Lodge. Day 7 : Airport Transfers to Durban International Airport. In the morning you enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then you will be transferred to Durban International Airport for your flight or you can extend your stay and experience reef diving at Sodwana Bay, Great White Cage Diving at Gansbaai or Game Safari at Hluhluwe 'Big-5' Game Reserve [info below].
