Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Ha Noi. Welcome at Noi Bai international airport and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Ha Noi. Includes: (D). Day 2: Ha Noi. A full day city tour of Vietnam’s capital. Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. The city tour includes such sights as Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum, the Temple of Literature, the Lake of the Restored Sword and the Old Quarter. In the evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: Ha Noi / Ha Long / Ha Noi. After breakfast drive to Ha Long Bay, list as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “ Dragon descending to the sea as it is know in Vietnamese, picturesque Ha Long Bay has more than 1,000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Enjoy a relaxing 5-hour boat trip through Ha Long Bay, fresh seafood lunch is prepared and served on broad. Afternoon, drive back to Ha Noi. Accommodation in Ha Noi. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: Ha Noi / Ninh Binh / Vinh. Drive 70km through rural northern Vietnam to the site of Vietnam’s first capital, Hoa Lu. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel, take a sampan on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karats jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place’s other name, ‘Halong on Land’. Transfer to Vinh (200 km) with stop-over Ham Rong bridge, passing the Ma river which is the famous point during the Viet Nam War. Overnight in Vinh. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: Vinh / Dong Hoi / Phong Nha cave / listed as Natural Heritage by UNESCO. In the morning take a coach trip to visit President Ho Chi Minh’s native village of Kim Lien. Drive to Xuan Son ferry landing in Phong Nha (200km). Boat ride on Son river to Bi Ky & Cung Dinh caves, hike to Tien Son cave. Overnight in Dong Hoi. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 6: Dong Hoi / Hue. Leave for Hue, stop at former DMZ. Visit to Vinh Moc Village and tunnels. Arrival Hue to take a boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Hue’s best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda and the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Overnight in Hue. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 7: Hue / Hoi An. After breakfast, take a half-day city tour in Hue includes: mausoleum of former emperor Minh Mang in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes, the elaborate mausoleums of emperors Khai Dinh. Onwards to Hoi An, climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds and looking down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co. Arrive in Hoi Anate afternoon. Overnight in HoiAn. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 8: Hoi An / My Son. In the morning take a coach trip to My Son Sanctuary, a religious sanctuary of the flourishing Champa Kingdom from the 4th century. Many temples and towers were built here dedicated to the kings and Brahman divinities. In the afternoon take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market. Spend more 1-hour for boat trip on the Thu Bon river to enjoy the sunset. Overnight in Hoi An. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 9: Hoi An / Qui Nhon. Leaving for Qui Nhon after breakfast. Continuing southwards up Highway One to visit My Lai Massacre Memorial near to Quang Ngai. Free time for leisure on the beach. Overnight in Qui Nhon. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 10: Qui Nhon / Nha Trang. Take a coach trip to Nha Trang (250 km). On arrival in Nha Trang guests are transferred to the hotel. An afternoon city tour includes the Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda with its enormous white Buddha statue, Pasteur Institute. Overnight in Nha Trang. Day 11: Nha Trang / Phan Thiet. A morning boat trip on Nha Trang bay visits some of the nearby islands and there are opportunities to swim and snorkel in the clear warm waters. Return to shore after a fresh seafood lunch on one of the islands in the bay. In the afternoon departs to Phan Thiet. Overnight in Phan Thiet. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 12: Phan Thiet / Ho Chi Minh city. After breakfast departs by road for Ho Chi Minh city. Nearer to Phan Thiet the terrain changes to arid semi-desert with cactus plants and strange looking dragon fruit trees. The scenic 200km drive south on highway one passes through dense rubber plantations and the bustling city of Bien Hoa. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh in the late morning and check into hotel. After lunch, the rest of day is free to relax by the pool. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 13: Ho Chi Minh city. Taking a morning city tour of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals. Visitting the former Presidential Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, a lacquerware factory and Thien Hau Pagoda in the city’s bustling Chinatown. In the afternoon, visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City / My Tho / Ho Chi Minh City. A full day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta, just a couple of hours by road from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City’s streets. Take a boat trip along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation and try exotic fruits in one of the many orchards. For lunch sample the local delicacy, Elephant’s Ear Fish. Back and overnight in Ho Chi Minh. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City. Free time for relaxing or shopping. Transfer to the airport for departure flight from Vietnam. Includes: (B).
