Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi
Upon arrival at Nairobi you will be greeted by a representative of Lindberg Safaris and transported to the ultra-modern Grand Regency Hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure for shopping, relaxation or optional city tours. In the evening we will have a safari briefing. Grand Regency Hotel. Includes: (B).

Day 2/3: Amboseli National Park
We begin our safari with a morning flight to the famed Amboseli National Park. Your home for the next two nights is Tortilis Camp. Tortilis is a welcoming blend of rustic style and modern comfort designed to make the international traveler feel comfortable in Africa. As a winner of the 1995 Southern Region Tourism for Tomorrow Award presented annually by British Airways, Tortilis conforms to the principles of "Eco-tourism", defined by the Eco-tourism Society as responsible travel to natural areas which conserve the environment and improve the residents' welfare. Imagine sitting in the privacy of your verandah in the shade of the picturesque acacia tortilis tree (the camp's namesake), sipping your favorite drink and looking out over the majesty of Mount Kilimanjaro. If you survey the plains in front of you carefully, you might see several species of antelope, velvet monkeys, a colorful array of bird life, or one of Amboseli's famous huge bull elephants - maybe even a Maasai or two making their way on foot as they have since time began. Tortilis Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Sweetwaters Tented Camp
After breakfast we board our flight for Nairobi and drive to Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Sweetwaters lies in the heart of the privately owned 24,000-acre Sweetwaters Game Reserve, enjoying magnificent views to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. Overlooking a floodlit waterhole, the camp offers visitors an unforgettable opportunity to watch and photograph animals in their natural habitat. Accommodation is provided in luxuriously appointed tents, set under thatch, with en-suite facilities and private verandah. Each tent overlooks the water hole. Within the quaint, original farmhouse is the dining room, bar and reception. Day and night game drives in four-wheel-drive vehicles, walking safaris escorted by a knowledgeable ranger, bird walks, camel safaris and outdoor dining ensure there is always plenty to do. Sweetwatares Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Days 5/6/7: Samburu National Reserve
After a hearty breakfast we travel to the northern frontier district, Samburu/Buffalo Springs Reserve. Game viewing in these parks is excellent and there are species found here and nowhere else, such as the beautiful gerenuk, Beisa oryx and the reticulated giraffe. This is an excellent location to see the Big Five. Larsens Tented Camp or Samburu Intrepids. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Days 8/9: Lewa Downs Conservancy
Today we drive to Lewa Conservancy. Lewa is a privately owned 45,000-acre game ranch where night game drives and guided game walks can be arranged . A guided horseback ride will take you close to giraffes you can almost touch. This is a wonderful experience for both the novice and experienced rider. Lewa also contains a 110,000-acre rhino sanctuary, and is home to cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and an abundance of plains animals. Wilderness Trails/Olerai Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 10: Mount Kenya Safari Club
This resort, set exactly on the Equator, is a dream brought to life by the late actor William Holden. It hosts royalty, heads of state, celebrities (including Stephanie Powers, star of the 1980s hit TV series Hart to Hart , a frequent visitor deeply involved in the animal orphanage) and offers all one expects in a luxury resort and more. Conde Nast Magazines have ranked this as one of the top 20 resorts in the world. Mount Kenya Safari Club. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Days 11/12/13: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This morning we take a flight over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. The Mara is the destination of millions of grazing animals traveling North from the Serengeti. It is Kenya 's most renowned wildlife sanctuary. Due to the large number of grazing animals, the Mara supports one of Africa 's largest concentrations of predators.Your home for the next three nights will be the beautiful Mara Intrepids Club. The luxurious Mara Intrepids Club is a cluster of tents sheltered in a forest bordering the Talek River. All tents have four-poster beds, electricity and modern en suite facilities with hot and cold running water. A deck for night game viewing of bush babies and other nocturnal creatures is cantilevered over the river. The Club offers evening talks and slide shows on the Mara ecosystem and Maasai culture by the resident naturalist. Your game drives are in customized 4WD vehicles. Here you can also experience an optional night game drive using night vision equipment. This is not to be missed! While in the Mara you can also indulge yourself in an optional hot-air balloon excursion. You will never forget the experience! Mara Intrepids. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 14: Nairobi/Depart
One last morning game run, etching Mara scenes in your memory, breakfast, and, though difficult, it's time to meet our plane. The flight back is as beautiful as was the incoming one. We land at Wilson Airport, where we meet our drivers and are transported back to the Grand Regency, where day rooms are provided for your comfort. The rest of the day is at your leisure. You may want to sit and relax or do some last-minute shopping. Tonight we meet once again, for a farewell dinner before you depart for your flight home. Grand Regency (Day Room) Farewell Dinner.
