Annapurna basecamp trekking leads you to the west of Pokhara giving fine views of the Annapurna Region and crosses through the beautiful Gurung villages and Rhododendron (Nepal's national flower) forests. At Ghorepani, the ridgeline trail meets a major trade route, plied by donkey trains carrying loads north toward Tibet. An early morning climb to Poon Hill (3,200m) Rewards you with panoramic views (if the weather is clear) of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges, the world's fourth and fifth highest mountains. Annapurna trekking trail leads to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and the Annapurna Base Camp by passing colorful Gurung villages, terraced fields, dense forest of pine and rhododendron. On the return journey we will have a chance to visit the beautiful village and the Gurung 'capital' of Gandruk before heading back to Pokhara.

Our guide will explain about the program in briefly along the way to hotel. Rest of the day varies upon your arrival time; we can organize some activities if you arrived by midday or early afternoon but late afternoon and evening arrivals have a free day for individual activities. Day 02: half day sightseeing & final preparation After breakfast, start the trip to visit Kathmandu Valley with its various important religious centres; Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), nearby along the banks of the Bagmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats, nearby Boudhanath is possibly the largest stupa in the world; Where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa and this is also kind of prayer centre for Tibetan school of Buddhism, Then our trip moves toward Swoyambhunath, one of the most glorious Buddhist Chaityas probably the oldest temple of Nepal, famous for its nickname as Monkey Temple. The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further sightseeing, exploration & final preparation for next morning to trekking. In the late afternoon your tour guide will confirm departure information for the next morning. Day 03: Fly or drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara Early in the morning we take bus/ private vehicle heading toward Pokhara passing through the natural beauty or scenery of hills, rivers, local regions and so on. It takes about 5/6 hours drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It is about 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Once you climb up of the Kathmandu valley, then quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. Pokhara is the starting point for some of the most famous treks in Nepal, and there are also plenty of short walks and day trips, that can be made around the valley. You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 35 minutes. Stay overnight at hotel. Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul-Tikhe Dhunga After breakfast you will drive by a car/van/Bus which takes about 1 hours from pokhara to Nayapul. On the way you can witness the magnificent Fish Tail, Annapurna South, and Annapurna II along with other mountains and you can also view the whole Pokhara valley. From here you begin on foot to Birethanti which is the main entrance of Ghorepani trek. Then the trail climbs gently up to Tikhe Dhunga along the bank of stream with the beautiful scenery of natural waterfall and local country side which is amazingly mysterious. It takes about 4 hours to get to Tikhe Dhunga from Nayapul. Overnight at Tikhe Dhunga. Day 05: Tikhe Dhunga to Gorepani Wake up early in the morning. After having the light breakfast we forward our trek. The trail descends for a moment and we meet the river which we need to cross it. Then we need to climb for Ulleri which is the largest village of the Magar community. Now the route ascends to Banthanti from where you can monitor the picturesque view of Annapurna South and the natural green scenery of the local area. From Banthanti the route commence through a dense forest of rhododendron, magnolia, and oak tree to Ghorepani which takes about 3 hours. It takes about 6 hours in total to Ghorepani from Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight at Ghorepani. Day 06: Gorepani to Tadapani Early morning wake up and trek up to Poonhill which is surrounded by the national flower of Nepal called Laaliguras (rhododendron). After walking about 45 minutes you will get to Pun hill which is not only famous view point of sunrise and sunset but also famous for best Annapurna Himalayas panorama. You can see the whole Annapurna range from Pun hill and you can take magnificent pictures of the himalayas and countryside. After your thousands clicks of pictures and breathtaking Himalayan panorama, reluctantly we will decent back to Ghorepani and get breakfast and then our trek headed to Tadapani; a place is surrounded by rhododendrons forest so you will have an opportunity to see langur monkey. You can have pleasure from fabulous sunrise over fish tail, Gangapurna and Annapurna range. Stay overnight in Tadapani. Day 07: Tadapani to Chhumrong Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong: It takes about 5 hours. It is very easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. You could hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way to Kimrung Khola. Immediately, ascend steeply and walk at a level for 45 minites and gently steeps and flat to Chhumrong. Chhumrung is a gateway to Annapurna Base Camp trek and inhabited by Gurung, one of the major Ethnic group of Nepal. Day 08: Chhumrong to Bamboo From Chhomrong to Bamboo, it takes about five hours; the trail descends on a stone staircase for the first one and half hour and crosses the Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge, then climbs out of the side valley. High above the Modi Khola on its west bank, the trail passes through the forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. Climbing further on a rocky you reach at Sinuwa, at 2350m. You trek gently through the forest and descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. Day 09: Bamboo to Deurali From Bamboo to Deurali, It takes about five hours. You trek gently ascend through bamboo forests with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. The first town you reach is Dovan (2630m.) where there are few lodges and camp sites. Now you pass through muddy trail. There is debris of avalanches except during winter season. After short trek, you reach at Himalayan Hotel (2900m.). Beyond it, the trail is steeply ascent up to Hinko Cave (3160m.), this named as a huge overhanging rock provides some protection against rain and avalanches. It takes approximately twenty five minutes through normally ascent path to reach Deurali Day 10: Deurali to ABC This day we will make our destination the famous Annapurna base camp. We will move here after having breakfast. The trek through the narrow Modi Kola valley will bring you to Machhapuchrre Base Camp (MBC). We continue to Annapurna base camp (ABC) which is one of the famous places in the Annapurna area, where you will ring by silvery mountains in one of the most beautiful of landscapes. You can take magnificient photos here. These include tremendous views of the near vertical south face of Annapurna towering above the sanctuary to the north-west. Overnight at ABC. Day 11: ABC to Bamboo Wake up early in the morning and climb to the viewpoint for a stunning sunrise. Then after breakfast we retrace our steps to Bamboo through the magnificent views of hills, mountains, rhododendron forest, deep bamboo forest and many more. Overnight at Bamboo. Day 12: Bambo to Chomrung Wake up early and after breakfast we move back to Chhomrung. From Bamboo the track descends along stone staircase through bamboo and rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. The trail continues through more rhododendron forest which leads us down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa the trail leads downhill to the Modi Khola, where we then need to climb precipitously to Chhomrung. Overnight at Chhomrung. Day 13: Chomrong to Ghandurk From Chomrong, we take an alternative route back to Pokhara, via Ghorepani. As you skirt through flatland, forests and terraced fields, a suspension bridge comes your way. On crossing this suspension bridge over Khumnu Khola, you enter beautiful village of Ghandruk after walking for 3 to 4 hours. You get to witness unique culture, tradition and custom of Gurung community. Ghandruk offers excellent views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhare. It accommodates several hotels and teahouses. Camping in its terraced fields can be very exciting and adventurous. Day 14: Ghandruck to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara Ghandruk is a huge and culturally rich village especially inhabited by Gurung community. At this point you can see the old Gurungs museum and mainly the lovely scenery of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchrre (Fish tail) and the original natural beauty. After that the trail descends down to Nayapul which takes about 4hours from there. From Nayapul we will drive by a car/van to Pokhara where we will stay overnight. There are cultural dance organized by some restaurant, where you can join to have your choice of dinner. Day 15: Fly or drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu Early in the morning, we take bus/private vehicle for about 200 kilometres drive back to Kathmandu which takes about 5/6 hours drive or alternatively there are domestic flights which take 35 minutes to Kathmandu. While your journey you better to hold on the left pane of the vehicle to enjoy the sceneries through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be then transferred to your hotel. Rest of the time you can spend the evening leisurely. Stay overnight at Kathmandu hotel. Day 16: Rest day & shopping This day is leisure day for you to rest after many days trekking. You can either relax whole day or you can explore around the city. You can roam around the shopping malls or you can buy handicrafts, Thankas and other various arts and sculptures in the markets. Rest of the time you can spend the evening leisurely, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping and celebrate dinner together with Nepali Travel staffs. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel. Day 17: Depart Kathmandu: farewell friends According to your flight schedule, it is varies on your departure time rest of day is at leisure for independent activities of your interest until we pick you up at the hotel or we could plan some activities upon your choice if it is late hour flight and then transfer to airport for your further destination.
