This trek leads you to the west of Pokhara giving fine views of the Annapurna Region and crosses through the beautiful Gurung villages and Rhododendron (Nepal's national flower) forests. At Ghorepani, the ridgeline trail meets a major trade route, plied by donkey trains carrying loads north toward Tibet. An early morning climb to Poon Hill (3,200m) Rewards you with panoramic views (if the weather is clear) of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges, the world's fourth and fifth highest mountains. The trail leads to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and the Annapurna Base Camp by passing colorful Gurung villages, terraced fields, dense forest of pine and rhododendron. On the return journey we will have a chance to visit the beautiful village and the Gurung 'capital' of Gandruk before heading back to Pokhara.
