Wye Creek is situated in The Remarkables range, 15km south of Queenstown in a spectacular setting. The rock is good quality grey schist and we can climb the many rock faces perched on the steep hillside overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. Most routes are 20-30m long and utilize either existing sport bolts and hangers or tradition protection. There are a variety of crags to choose from depending on difficulty or aspect. To maximize your trip it would be an advantage to be able to second a minimum of grade 16 comfortably (5.8 USA or 5C French). This trip is an excellent choice if you are staying in Queenstown and would like to sneak in a days climbing without heading over to Wanaka. If you are staying in Wanaka then it is 1 hours drive, but this just means an earlier start in the morning to maximize your climbing time and experience.
Notes: Cost includes transport, guiding fees, all equipment and lunch.
