Every day meals are prepared in the field and during the paddling you will be provide with enough water, energetic snacks, fruits, etc. In the afternoons there is a lot of different activities you can enjoy such as fishing, snorkeling, swimming, preparing coconut candies and much more. Guests meet us at ATGD operation base to get the security speak and all the basic information on the trip’s itinerary, route and activities. Launching from Puerto Jimenez the adventure start with a ride to Rincon bay, then the paddle starts as it is described below. Includes camping equipment, meals, bilingual tour guide and power boat for assistance and to carry all the equipment. Every day there are several activities to discover and enjoy the nature surrounding. Kayaking: We’ll travel in sea kayaks seat on top type, built on fiber glass and totally unsinkable. Single and tandem kayaks are available. Every day we paddle an average of six hours from a camping area to the other. If weather let us, we can night paddle to see the bioluminescence effect. Sun, Beach and Snorkeling: We have plenty of time to snorkel, fish and enjoy the scenery and marine life. View nature in the wild, as you discover the Golfo Dulce from the quiet of your kayak. Camping: Is the perfect compliment for an adventure, sleep close to the jungle, the sea, the sand, the sun and the stars. Setting up the camping, collaborate in the cooking task, learning some local recipes, watching the sunsets and sunrise, sharing around the fire, what else can you want. Mountain Surviving: No electricity, no markets, so learn how to survive, getting food from the wild. Right in one of the stages of this incredible hike the tour guide will show you how to eat, drink and smell sources for surviving in the jungle. Mangrove Exploring: Esquinas River delta has the largest mangrove forest in Golfo Dulce, it is part of Piedras Blancas National Park. The second day (if tide is high) we’ll explore the mangrove forest and the guide will explain about this impressing ecosystem. Seeking wild life: We will be in a living laboratory, the Osa is been describe as a place with intense diversity, see big variety of marine and terrestrial beings that will enrich the adventure. Your Itinerary: Day 1: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation. Transportation from Puerto Jimenez to Rincon. This day the paddling is around 18 km. There are little islands in front the camping place, is possible to paddle to the island to explore, fish or snorkel. Overnight camping at Playitas in Mogos. Day 2: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation. Start paddling early, by 7am after breakfast. The paddling from Playitas to San Josecito is around 22 km. On the way to San Josecito we pass by the Esquinas mangrove forest, wish is part of the Piedras Blancas National Park. Overnight camping in San Josecito. Day 3: Breakfast, lunch. Paddle from San Josecito to Puerto Jimenez. We end our journey along the mainland where we load up the boats and equipment and return to ATGD base. Here we have a chance to shower, dress and relax before our final lunch together. Special Features: This trip is not for everyone as it is physically demanding. All adventurers need to be healthy and in good physical conditions. Kids over 12 years old can join theme parents in double kayaks. This trip is for a minimum of 2 pax. Golfo Dulce’s smooth waters provide easy paddling while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Golfito Forest Reserve, Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve and Piedras Blancas National Park. While out on the gulf, we are practicing minimum impact camping, to ensure the pristine state of the wilderness remains for future generations. We will be keeping the weight and volume of a gear to a minimum. We will be staying in expedition quality tents, which provide more than enough room for two people (some single tents are available on each trip). As we travel from beach to beach, we use predetermined camping areas to minimize our impact on the coast line. However, we also give ourselves considerable flexibility to adjust to different conditions encountered as we travel. Notes:
