Skiing by day on the slopes of Monte Bianco and walking by night in the elegant avenues of the aristocratic Courmayeur: a week’s holiday tinged with white and blue.
Day-by-day program: Sport and worldly pleasures are the promises of the main touristic resorts of Valle d’Aosta, whose capital is Courmayeur. Situated on the slopes of Monte Bianco, Courmayeur is also the capital of the european mountaineering. The central via Roma, with its elegant boutiques and the antiques shops, is a crowded showroom of vips and demanding tourists. Ski profile: Lifts: 21 (4 aerial trams, 1 cable-ways, 8 chair-lifts, 8 surface-lifts) Total Runs: 100 km's, 14 of which equipped with artificial snow makers Cross Country: 26 km's Accommodation is provided at Hotel Royal (5 stars), located right in the city center, in the pedestrian area, surrounded by a beautiful garden. This hotel boasts an long tradition of hospitality and charme and offers american bar, a large lounge, private dining and meeting rooms, garage and private parking, outside heated pool, finish sauna, steam bath, UVA treatments, massages, gymnasium. Worthy of note is the cuisine, as here are served delicious typical meals. All rooms and suites are beautifully furnished and decorated and are supplied with private telephone, modem connection, satellite TV, minibar, and hairdryer. The 6-night-stay includes overnight, buffet breakfast and two typical dinners in huts in La Thuile (transfer by snowmobiles) and in Col Checrouit (transfer by cable-way). Excursions: During the stay, experienced skiers can enjoy fantastic excursions by Heliski: leave by helicopter Col Checrouit to the Mont Blanc glaciers, where you can ski on back-country trails in the whole area of Courmayeur-Checrouit-Val Veny. The approximate cost is valid for 2 persons minimum, including the alpine guide (compulsory). Col of Pyramides Calcaires in Val Veny (2873 mt. – vertical drop 1353 mt) This is the easiest itinerary, where you will enjoy the sensations and emotions of back-country skiing, with no danger. Easy level: Col Chavannes (2603 mt – vertical drop 1083 mt) Ideal slope for those who look for panoramic and quiet spots, in addition to skiing. Medium level: Downhill to La Thuile This excursion will let you cross through a quiet valley, which is not a popular area, boasting an untouched natural environment. Medium level: Aiguille des Glaciers (3706 mt – vertical drop 2186 mt) This is one of most spectacular descents of Mont Blanc, ideal for those who like neverending slopes.
