Khao Pra Teaw Forest and Wildlife Preserve covers 22.28 square kilometers of virgin forest, but trekking from end to end takes just 3 hours. Along the way you'll see more than 100 species of birds, ranging in size from thumb-sized Flowerpeckers to majestic White-bellied Sea-Eagles, Blue-eared Kingfishers and Asian Paradise Flycatchers. You"ll find giant trees, supported by huge buttresses, thick with creepers and climbers. This forest, its watercourses, and pools provide some of Phuket's loveliest scenes.
More excellent bird watching at Bang Tak non-hunting areas, Ao Sapam, and Sirinath national park, Phuket's largest. Sightings are especially good in the mangroves(much prized by scientists for clues about adaptation) with many resident and migratory birds.
