Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the Sheraton Kampala Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Depart for Murchison Falls National Park after breakfast. Driving through a variety of vegetation ranging from cultivated plantations of bananas and coffee to riparian forests and swamp lands to broad savannah, you begin have a sense of the land and the people. Stop for lunch at the Masindi hotel for a traditional or western fare, then afterwards proceed to the top of the Mighty Murchison Falls. Later arrive at Paraa Safari Lodge in time for dinner.

Day 3: Head out very early in the morning for a wild game drive on the northern banks of the Nile River and various areas of the delta where giraffes, lions, buffalo, elephants and antelopes are common sites. Afterwards, return to the lodge for breakfast, then if you choose, relax poolside for the rest of the morning and recount the morning’s events. After lunch, take a 3-hour boat trip along the Nile to the foot of the Mighty Falls. Along the way, you typically see game such as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, water bucks, buffalo and a wide range of birds including the legendary Shoe bill stock. When finished, return to the lodge in time for dinner.

Day 4: After an early breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park. via Lake Albert for some spectacular views of the escarpment and the lake below. Afterwards, stop for lunch in Hoima and proceed to Ndali Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 5: Proceed directly to a park for a chimpanzee walk. This is a casual stroll in a tropical forest that has the highest concentration of primates in the region. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park and after some game viewing en-route, arrive at Mweya Safari Lodge in time for dinner.

Day 6: Depart early for a game drive that takes you through the home of a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, hippos, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, baboons and birds, all typical of riverine and savannah habitants. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning can be spent poolside or at the park museum. After lunch, take a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, a paradise for bird watchers. This is two and a half hour trip and viewings of large animals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos and the Nile crocodile are very common. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning depart for the Uganda/Rwanda border through scenic countryside, sometimes referred to as the “Little Switzerland of Africa” owing to its rolling hills and deep valleys. Lunch in Kabale, then cross the border after completing entrance formalities. Proceed to Kinigi in Rwanda and arriving at Mount Gorilla Nest in time for dinner.

Day 8: Spend the day tracking gorillas. In the late afternoon, crossover the border back into Uganda and proceed to Kisoro Tourist Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Depart for Kabale with a detour of Lake Bunyonyi and stop for lunch at the Bunyonyi Overland Camp. After lunch, proceed to Mbarara through large livestock farms full of the ancient Long Horned Ankole Cattle. Arrive in the evening at Agip Motel in time for dinner.

Day 10: Depart for Kampala with a detour to Lake Mburo National Park. This is a small park but has animal species such as the eland, zebra and impala that you will not have seen in all of the other parks visited. Lunch at Masaka and proceed to Kampala for a brief city tour and shopping. In the evening, transfer to Entebbe for flight connections.
