The Pieniny Mountains (app. 100 km from Krakow) offer a great choice of paths and trails for endless wandering. Your horses, experienced hikers, take you through Small Pieniny Hills to beautiful meadows with excellent vantage points for the region. You will also take a raft trip down the Dunajec River Gorge. This water channel impresses, twisting among mountain slopes. You have a chance to admire majestic elevations several hundred meters high dominating both sides of the river. Nature lovers are pleased with Pieniny's flora, rich with coniferous forests growing over even steep rocks. On the immense meadows of this region wild fauna plaits with domesticated horses herds and sheep flocks. Pieniny are also famous of its numerous charming small villages where the biggest one is Szczawnica - health resort. You will find there the pump room known of its waters curative characteristics since XVIth century. Szczawnica specializes in treatment of allergic and respiratory conditions. Marvellous paths, beautiful views, evenings spent round the fire cause melancholic mood that will make it difficult to leave these surroundings and make your way home. Board and Accommodation You will be accommodated in Jaworki, a small village placed in the heart of Pieniny Mountains, famous for or its late eighteenth-century wooden church - example of the characteristic, Lemkos architectural style. The guest house is situated in a magnificent area of Homole Ravine and of White Water Valley which are considered to be one of the most striking tourist attractions in the Pieniny Region. Double or four person rooms with bathrooms will be at your disposal. Horse riding I 2 km far from the house where you will be accommodated, there is small, but beautiful stable where your polish adventure with horses will start! It is possible to get there on foot or on bicycle. You will ride along paths with magnificent views of surrounding mountain environment, observing sheep grazing fields and admiring some beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Food 1.5 km far from the guest house, there is a restaurant serving polish traditional food. There is also a special place where you can fish on your own. River Raft Trip You will take part in Dunajec River Raft Trip from Sromowce Wyzne Katy to Szczawnica (total route’s length: app. 18 km, the time of the rafting route: app. 2 hours 15 min). Rafting down the Dunajec Gorge is a major tourist attraction - this water channel impresses, twisting among majestic elevations several hundred meters high. Additional attractions Szczawnica 8 km from Jaworki, there is a small town Szczawnica – a health resort known of its waters curative. You can also visit Zakopane – polish mountains capital (65 km from Jaworki). In case the weather is not good enough for outside activities, you can go to AquaCity in Poprad (80 km) or to Bukowina Tatrzanska (58 km) therm! Niedzica and Czorsztyn castles You can visit the 14th century castle in Niedzica (31 km from Jaworki) - a real pearl of the area. It is beautifully located next to the lake. On the opposite site of the lake, there are ruins of the second castle – Czorsztyn castle. If you want to spend more time in this picturesque area, we strongly advise you a cruise on the lake! Music Sheep Farm Do you like music? If yes, you can spend evenings in a very special place called Music Sheep Farm. Sounds funny but this music club from Jaworki is famous all over Poland and best jazz, blues and even rock musicians from all over the country happen to play there very often.
