Tour Itinerary:
Your day begins when we collect you from your Auckland city accommodation. If you are staying outside of the area we will be able to arrange a meeting place with you, prior to your trip. We then go to buy some fresh bait and you get a chance to learn more about the fish that can be caught in this fantastic region. You will also learn about which type of bait is good for which types of fish and why certain baits and fishing methods are unsuitable or suitable for kite fishing. While you sit comfortably in our luxury 4WD, we take you through some spectacular scenery to the designated fishing spot. Along the way we will stop at particularly scenic places so that you can take some photos. You will be fishing at one of our favorite fishing spots. When we get to the beach we’ll have to walk for up to 30 minutes to get to the fishing spot, depending on the day’s wind and tide conditions. Now for the exciting process of getting the gear up to 1.5 km out to sea! The kite is used to silently pull the hooks further out than you could ever go by casting with a fishing rod. After pulling in the fish and leaving the kite flying in the sky, we reset the gear and let the kite take the line out again. Fish such as snapper, kingfish, gurnard, kahawai, trevally, John Dory and even sharks can be caught in this way. Any fish that are within the legal limit can be kept; we do support sustainable fishing practices. Lunch, snacks and hot/cold drinks are provided and you will also get the opportunity to have a swim. At the end of the day we return you and your prized catch to your pick-up location. And if you don’t know how to fillet or prepare your fish, we can do it for you! Notes: - You need to be able to walk for up to 30 minutes in order to reach the fishing spot - Children will need a paying and supervising adult with them at all times. - The tour may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may need to reschedule your experience for a later date. However rainy days are often better for fishing. Please call us on the day prior to your fishing trip to confirm your booking. We are particularly busy in the summer months so you should book as far in advance as possible. We leave Auckland at 10 am and return at 6 pm. You will spend between four and six hours fishing. Member discount: Notes: Price Includes:
