Travelling with your personal tour host with your private group exclusively or as a couple not only has greater social advantages, it is by nature more flexible and therefore open to opportunities which could arise on the day. This could enable the host to take your private group to a special winery or meet with a wine maker.
Good wine is made in the vineyard. This is where the flavour comes into the wine. The vintage depends on weather conditions but the age of the vines and the site can also have a major influence on the flavour of the wine. By visiting the boutique wineries, talking with your guide and tasting the wine at the cellar door, will learn more about the region, increase your wine knowledge and subsequently have a greater appreciation for the wine you're tasting or buying.
