Lawson's offer mammal-focused tours and safaris into the Kruger National Park (KNP), the country's flagship wildlife destination. While the itinerary is flexible, these tours generally vary from three to six nights or more in duration, and include various different rest camps within the National Park, from Berg-en-Dal in the hills of the south-west to Skukuza along the majestic Sabie River and Satara in the central region, an area well known for large herds of plains game and the attendant predators. Reccomended add-on's include the Private Lodge Option, which entails what is some of the very best wildlife viewing in Africa, if not the world. These tours are aimed at the keen nature and outdoor enthusiast, but are also perfect for anyone wishing for an authentic and enjoyable African safari experience. While the big mammals are the focus, our guides are experts in all spheres of nature and will introduce you to the wealth of birds (just short of 500 species have been recorded in the KNP), trees, insects, geology and history that make the park all that it is.

For an authentic South African wildlife safari look no further than our Kruger National Park Discoverer. Further add-on's include the best features of the Panorama Route, such as God's Window and the Blyde River Canyon. Let us put a tour together for you - it'll be an experience you won't forget!

Best time to visit: game viewing is at its best during the dry months, from June to October, but any time of the year will provide a rewarding experience.

Expected weather conditions: warm to hot in summer, possible afternoon thunderstorms. Cool to mild and dry during winter.

Tour tempo: medium to medium-plus, optional mid-day breaks on non-travelling days (advisable in the hotter areas).

Accommodation standards: medium to high: upmarket private lodges and National Park's rest-camps.

Mammal viewing: excellent, especially in the private reserves, where big cat sightings are superb!

Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.

Tour cost depends on specific options, such as length of tour and inclusion / exclusion of the private lodge option.
