The Orange River runs like a glittering green ribbon through the beautiful Kalahari Desert. The main attractions are the Kgalagadi Trans frontier Park (250km) and Augrabies Falls National Park (120km).
Tour Itinerary: Days 1-2: Departure from Upington, spend 2 days at the 6th highest waterfalls in the world, the Augrabies Falls National Park. Overnight chalets Augrabies. Meals: restaurant (not included in price). 130km Day 3: Drive to Molopo Kalahari lodge, visiting White-backed Vulture breeding colonies. Common resident is the Crimson-breasted Shrike and Lilac-breasted Roller. Overnight Kalahari Molopo Lodge chalets. Includes: (B), (L). 330km Day 4: Depart to Twee Rivieren at the entrance to the Kgalagadi. Stalk-driving until the Kalahari Camp. This is an open perimeter camp which offers you to be as close to nature as possible. Game drives around the waterholes of the Auob River. This is prime Raptor habitat ( 40 species). Overnight Kalahari Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). 180km Day 5: Today we drive back to Twee Rivieren. En route we stop at a waterhole to see the resident Lanner Falcons hunting the Turtle dove/Namaqua Sandgrouse. Overnight Twee Rivieren. Includes: (B), (L). 120km Day 6: Game drive until the afternoon, then back to Upington in time for your flight, or transfer to your guesthouse/hotel.
