Picturesquely set overlooking the Vistula River, Krakow has a history going back over a thousand years, a host of monuments of Mediaeval, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, and an old University (founded l364). A looking glass for Polish and European tradition, Krakow was entered in 1978 on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in Krakow, transfer to a hotel, a welcoming drink. Opportunity to see "Krakow by night". Includes: (D). Day 2: After breakfast take a guided coach tour of Krakow: the Old City, defense walls, Barbican, Market Square, St. Mary's Basilica, Cloth Hall, Czartoryski Museum. In the afternoon proceed on the tour of Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter, and "The Schindler's List" route. Dinner in a restaurant with a concert of Jewish, Russian, and Gypsy music. Day 3: Guided tour of Wawel Hill: the city panorama, Wawel Cathedral (Royal crypts, Sigismundian Bell), opportunity to visit royal apartments in the Castle. Walk along the Royal Way (Grodzka St.) with visiting the churches on the way to the Market Square for lunch. Afternoon free. Dinner in a regional restaurant with folk music recital or night at a concert/opera. Day 4: In the morning excursion to Pieskowa Skala, tour of the Castle and walk in Ojcow National Park; lunch in the Castle restaurant. Proceed on the excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mine.
