Visited sights:
Cigar Factoy: Estelí Cigarros. Just ten minutes away from the center lay the fields and the factory, where thin, thick, strong, mild, dark, and light Cuban-quality cigars are produced. We will show you around and teach you about the cigars. You can see how the tobacco plants grow and how they are harvested (if you're there in the right season). In an office on the same lot you can see men and women selecting, cutting, rolling, ordering, and packing the cigars. You will also have the opportunity to buy some of the handmade cigars. La Garnacha: The Garnacha is a very picturesque small village that lies about 15 kilometers south of Estelí. This place not only captivates by its excellent landscapes but also for their delicious goat cheeses, locally produced and aged, and whose quality has already earned the recognition and acceptance of consumers in the market capital. The "village", created recently strengthened its economy through community work, the diversification of agricultural crops, livestock, milk production in cows and goats, as well as the specialized production of tasty cheeses, the best Swiss style Parmesan or Italian. The Garnacha is at the Ranger Station and Visitor Center of the Natural Reserve Tisey. This is a highly recommended for anyone wishing to explore the path Tisey. Here you can see the lifestyle of the locals, we spend our overnight in cabins. Somoto Canyon: The Somoto Canyon has been declared a protected area within the category of National Monument. This impressive geological formation is located in the northern area of the country. The canyon can be found 13 kilometers west of the town of Somoto, in the department of Madriz. As a National Monument the Somoto Canyon encompasses an area of 170.31 hectares (1.7 square kilometers), according to the official declaration. The document also points out that the structure was formed between 5 and 13 million years ago during the Miocene period. We hike through the canyon, hopping rocks across the river many times and scrambling across the rocky canyon floor for about an hour. There are a few excellent swimming holes to enjoy along the way. After the walk we will use tubes to go deeper into the canon, floating and hiking through the river, with the steep canyon walls extending up to 70 meters above our heads. At the end through this section of the trip there is a break spot where we can relax in the sun and jump off a cliff into the river. From here we will go back and relax! Or……if people like we can keep on going deeper into the canon, mainly hiking! Only for people in great condition!
