Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Lagos - Abeokuta

Meals included: lunch and dinner. Transport: minibus or luxury coach. Morning meet and greet and departure to Abeokuta on our way to Benin with a visit to the famous Olumo rock. We will climb to the top of the rock with a spectacular view of the ancient Abeokuta town. The top of the rock presents a unique view of the ancient city with their old houses and communal nature of living. We will pay a courtesy visit on the Alake of Egba land at his palace. The history and cultures of the Egba and other tribes in Ogun state will be on display. We will proceed to Benin from Abeokuta via Sagamu, Ore and Okada towns and arriving Benin late evening to check into a pre-booked Precious Palm Royal hotel

Day 2: Benin City

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. All meals are included. After breakfast, we’ll take a tour of Benin City with a visit to the Oba’s Palace, one of the oldest and largest cities in West Africa. We will also visit the Benin Bronze market, the Museum, the Benin Motts, Ikpoba hills, the Oba Ovaremwhen statue, The Zoological garden among other places. After lunch, we’ll visit some traditional villages around Benin before coming back to the city. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 3: Benin - Abuja - Jos

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. All meals are included. After breakfast, we will leave for Jos, the Tin city passing through Abuja. On arrival at Abuja, we will have lunch at the Tourist village underneath the Zuma Rock. We will also take a tour of the Abuja city before proceeding to Jos. We will arrive Jos very late in the evening for a good dinner at Hill station hotel.

Day 4: Jos

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. All meals are included. After breakfast, we will visit some villages and see how the local people live their lives in Africa. You will appreciate the culture and traditions of the Jos people especially the Birom tribe. We will have a brief tour of the tin city of the Jos Plateau with a visit to the Museum of national history and traditional architecture where we would see the 2500 years Nok terracotta sculptures. The Jos plateau is 4000 feet or 1900 meters high unique tableland of extraordinary natural beauty, with panoramic views.

The plateau, which is known for its waterfalls is home to some of Africa’s most unique fish species; the killer fish, the gardeneri nigerianus to mention a few. The Jos plateau is also home to the rare and endangered Klipspringer antelope and the rare rock fire finch. Temperatures on the plateau average 14°C and the average rainfall of 1300 mm. Dinner will be at a local restaurant before retiring to the hotel.

Day 5: Jos-Yankari

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. All meals are included. After breakfast, we will depart to Yankari with panoramic views of the traditional village life. On getting to Yankari, we will check into the Chalets at the park and embark on a tour of the Yankari National Park, Nigeria’s largest national park. Dinner and evening relaxation at the Wikki warm spring, a natural spring with a constant temperature of 31°C. The Yankari wildlife park is a woodland reserve well stocked with about 50 species of animals.

Day 6: Yankari – Abuja

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. All meals are included. We will embark on an early morning game drive for a viewing and photo safaris so don’t forget to come with your cameras. We’ll have lunch at the Wikki tourist camp. After lunch we explore the archaeological sites within the park before departing for Abuja. We’ll arrive Abuja late evening just on time to see some sites in the city once again. After the brief tour of Ushafa village where you will see how the locals make pots, we’ll return to our pre-booked hotel for Dinner and evening relaxation at the Reiz Continental hotel.

Day 7: Lokoja-Enugu

Transport: minibus or luxury coach. Meals: breakfast and lunch. We’ll depart Abuja early morning for the long journey to Port Harcourt passing through 5 states. Breakfast will be served on the bus as we drive through Lokoja, a one time administrative seat of the colonial government. We will stop over at Enugu for Lunch before heading to Umuahia to visit the Biafra war Museum.

Day 8: Departure day.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
