Day 1: Arriving at the airport in the evening. Walking from airport to Sørvágur where the boat is in the harbour. The captain is waiting with a good meal onboard, wish is served shortly after getting onboard. The evening used on getting comfortable onboard, walk around the village, possible further walk out to a small place called bø.
Day 2: Taking the ferry boat out to Mykines early in the morning. After arriving at the village, finding the path and set for the delightful trek out to Mykineshólmur, meeting rich birdlife on the way as well as on mykineshólmur were get a good sight of the Island as well. At Mykinesholmur is the largest population of Cannets in Faroe Islands. Coming back to the little cosy village there are several opportunities for hiking paths at, and enjoying the nature, peace. Taking the ferryboat back to Sørvågur in afternoon were boat is. Captain preparing evening meal.
Day 3: Sailing in the early morning out of the harbour in sunrise, sailing close by the shore enjoying the cliffs and wildlife south of the island Vågur. When are free of the coast we set sail for the west-side of Hestur, were there are great bird cliffs and caves. sailing time about 3 hours. When arriving at the Westside of Hestur, sailing with dinghy close to bird cliffs, and further into the big cave where we have a concert with the captain of the dinghy how’s plays trumpet. The sound travels for 13 seconds in the cave. After concert continue sailing to east -side of Hestur were is a good harbour. staying for the night. possibility for great hiking to top mountain, about one hour walk. Hestur has a nice little village with 30 inhabitants.
Day 4: Possible good sailing today as are sailing west of Sandoy with course for Stora Dímun, about 3 hours. Taking the dinghy to shore of Dímun, here the farmer meets us, walking under the bird cliffs to the path that guides us up to Island. here we meet special wildlife as here only live two families. Possibility for exploring Stora dimun, about 30 min walk to top were have beautiful scenery. After 4 hours ashore taking the dinghy onboard again and continue to Suduroy arriving late evening at Tvøroyri.
Day 5: After breakfast going for a walk to Hvannahaga, 3hours trip. Will possible visited coal mines in Hvalba, which are the only coal mines still in function in the Faroe Islands. Going to a little fish market to catch some food for the evening. People are free to explore Tvøroyri inn the evening, there are many activities.
Day 6: Sailing in the morning north from Suðuroy along the East -side of Litla Dimun and Stóra Dímun, also sailing by Sandoy on the way to Nólsoy, were we take shelter in the fine harbour there, the trip is about 5 hours. People are free to do some hiking, they have a nice tourist information, possible catch some history there. Late evening we meet Jens Kjeld, He is ”the man” with the great knowledge about birds – both living and deal. Also he stuffs birds, we will meet him in his workshop, where it is possible to see all his work. Then he will guide us on a night trip to visited the worlds largest colony of Storm-Petrel that is located in Nolsoy about an hour walk from the village. Coming onboard again early morning at about 2-3 a clock.
Day 7: Sailing to Tórshavn in the morning, not to early. Here people are free to explore some on there own. Possible arrange some hiking, horse riding or other of guest request. There ar e many attractions in Tórshavn.
Day 8: Leaving the ship in morning of day 8. Always we have to sail as the weather is, so possible if not could sail on west side Faroes south to Suduroy, it is possible to sail north of Sørvágur and sail north of Faroes, where are many others opportunities to activities ashore. Often people have enough in sailing and exploring on own some days. So there can always be taken some of the schedule.
