Day 01: Arrival. Transfer to hotel (Overnight Asmara)
Upon Arrival at Asmara International Airport, tourists will be met, assisted and transferred to their hotel.
Day 02: Asmara city tour (Overnight Asmara)
Visit Asmara city that traces back its origin to 800 BC with a population of few hundreds. Visit the Mai Chihot site, Sembel On-site Museum and Mai Temenai tomb dating back to early 4th century BC.
Day 03: Asmara - Massawa - Adulis - Zula - Massawa (Overnight Massawa)
Drive downhill from Asmara to Massawa. Drive from Massawa to ancient port of Adulis which had links to Egyptian, Greek and Roman Empires, and Gulf of Zula - which is the birthplace of the Great Rift Valley on the African continent. Drive back to Massawa.
Day 04: Massawa - Nefasit - Debrebizen Monastery - Asmara (Overnight Asmara)
Drive to Nefasit via Asmara-Massawa road. Visit the 600 years old Debrebizen Monastery - perched 2450 meters above sea level – which is the most prominent beacon and symbol of Christianity in Eritrea. Drive further to Asmara.
Day 05: Asmara- Adikeyh- Qohaito - Adikeyh (Overnight Adikeyh)
Drive from Asmara via Dekemhare to Adikeyh, then further to Qohaito (Kohaito). Visit this famous historical site that features a superb array of archaeological sites that recount volumes of history. Rock-paintings, monolith stelae and the foundation of ancient palaces are just some of the wonders to be seen at Kohaito.
Day 06: Adikeyh- Senafe- Metera- Segeneiti- Asmara (Overnight Asmara)
Drive from Adikeyh to Senafe. Visit Metera/Belew Kelew, which is equivalent to an important ancient town named Koleo – referred by the famous Egyptian geographer Claudius Ptolemy in 2nd century AD, situated 20km south of Kohaito, house some of Eritrea’s most important historical sites.
A 2.5m tall enigmatic stele known for its pagan, pre-Christian symbol of the sun over the crescent moon – a south Arabian divinity, engraved on the top of the eastern face and it faces eastward, which is unique in Eritrea; a royal palace, a tomb chamber, amazingly beautiful and well preserved gold objects that include 14 Roman coins dating from between the 2nd and 3rd century AD are some of the things to be seen at Metera.
Drive uphill while enjoying the magnificent scenery and lush vegetation all the way to Asmara.
En route visit the town of Segeneiti- a lush fertile area and home to the best beles (delicious and surprisingly thirst-quenching prickly pear fruit that come into season between mid-July and mid-September).
Visit the huge Sycamore tree locally known as Daaro revered by the locals -for its beauty, for its generous shade, for its fruitful home for beehives and for providing important social purpose- as it form a place where the community can assemble for discussions and debates. The tree has been immortalized on the five-nakfa note.
Day 07: Discover Asmara on your own leisure time. Departure.
Late in the evening transfer to airport for departure.
