Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Ho CHi Minh City. Arrival Ho Chi Minh City, our guide meets you at the airport and accompanies you to your hotel. You’ll spend the night at hotel. Includes: (B).

Day 2: Ho ChI Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Ho CHi Minh City. You are free in the morning to get over jet-lag. In the afternoon, the guide and driver will take you to Tay Ninh to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels. You’ll have an opportunity to get the unique experience of guerrillas living and fighting under ground during the war before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City. Includes: (B).

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City. Today you will explore Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon. Your tour will give you a feel for the city of Saigon, once called the Pearl of the Orient. Your guide will arrive to show you the Notre Dame Catholic Church, the structure makes a great backdrop to the city bustling streets. The Main Post Office, unchanged since its completion in the 1880’s. You will tour the former Presidential Palace, renamed Reunification Palace which was the historic site on 30 April, 1975 when a North Vietnamese Tank crashed through its gates which was the symbolic victory of President Ho Chi Minh’s forces over the South. You will visit the History Museum or the Museum of War Remnants and explore one of Ho Chi Minh City’s wonderful local markets to finish the day. Includes: (B).

Day 4: Mekong Delta. After escaping from Ho Chi Minh City’s urban sprawl, you’ll travel to Vinh Long. There, you’ll cruise on the Mekong River, visit Cai Be floating market, fruit orchards, a traditional family-run brick kiln, and drop in to look at some traditional cottage industries - a workshop making the huge coffins unique to the Mekong is particularly interesting. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City where you’ll spend the night. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat. In the morning, you will visit the old American Embassy or having cold beer on the top of the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City before you board a noon flight to Da Lat. You’ll spend the night in Da Lat. Includes: (B).

Day 6: Da Lat city. In the morning, you’ll ride a cable car to Truc Lam Pagoda and Tuyen Lam Lake. The pagoda is quite plain, but is surrounded by an attractive flower garden. There are good views of the lake, which lies below and can be reached by steps, and the thick forests on the far side. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Emperor Bao Dai’s Summer Palace, the Crazy House, the Lam Ty Ni Pagoda and Dalat market. You’ll spend the night in Da Lat. Includes: (B).

Day 7: Da Lat - Buon Ma Thuot. In the morning, you’ll drive to Buon Ma Thuot. Fifty kilometres before reaching Buon Ma Thuot, you’ll visit Buon Juin, a M’Nong ethnic minority village where you’ll have lunch. You’ll then take a dugout canoe to cross the Lak Lake to M’Lieng village for an elephant ride. You’ll stay overnight in Buon Ma Thuot. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 8: Buon Ma Thuot - Nha Trang. In the morning, you’ll drive from Buon Ma Thuot to Nha Trang with a stop en-route visit to coffee and kakao plantations and learn how these trees are grown on this fertile land. After check in hotel, you’ll have time to relax, swim or sunbathe as you wish. Your accommodation will be in Nha Trang. Includes: (B).

Day 9: Nha Trang. Today, you will spend the day to see an old airport in Nha Trang City from distance, Cam Ranh airport and an old hospital in Nha Trang. Your accommodation will be in Nha Trang.

Day 10: Nha Trang - Tuy Hoa. After breakfast, your car and driver will take you to Vung Ro and Phu Hiep village. You’ll spend the night in Tuy Hoa. Includes: (B).

Day 11: Tuy Hoa - Chu Lai. Today, you’ll board a day train to Chu Lai. You’ll arrive at Tam Ky station where your driver and guide are awaiting for you to take you to the hotel. You’ll spend the night in Chu Lai. Includes: (B).

Day 12: Chu Lai - Hue. In the morning, you will take a tour in Chu Lai. After that, you’ll drive to Hue via the Hai Van Pass. The views from the top are excellent – you’ll be able to see Lang Co beach and the lagoon far below. You will spend the night in Hue. Includes: (B).

Day 13: Hue - Ashau valley - Hue. In the early morning, our driver and guide will take you to Ashau valley and surround where you were on duty. From there, you’ll drive to the battle sites of Khe Sanh Base with en-route visit Van Kieu, an ethnic minority village. Your route will take you to Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River. Later in the afternoon, you’ll be driven to Hue to spend the night at hotel. Includes: (B).

Day 14: Hue - Hanoi. In the morning, you will have a quick visit to the Citadel and Imperial City. Hue and surrounding area suffered greatly during the 25-day Tet Offensive in 1968 which was one of the turning points of the Vietnamese-American war. You will also visit and a small outdoor war museum and visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and the adjacent Buddhist monastery. Close to the monastery stands the Austin car that in June 1963 was driven by Thich Quang Duc, a monk from this pagoda, to Saigon, where he took his pacifist stand of self-immolation. Photographed by one of Life magazine’s photographers on assignment in Vietnam, Thich Quang Duc became a pivotal figure in the history of the war between the north and the south. You will board a late afternoon flight to Hanoi. Includes: (B).

Day 15: Hanoi. Today, you’ll enjoy an orientation of Hanoi. For the start of the tour, you will visit the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his simple stilt house where he lived and worked, and the museum dedicated to his memory. During your tour of Hanoi you will visit the One-Pillared Pagoda, originally built in 1049; the Temple of Literature – first university in Vietnam, founded in 1070 and Maison Central Prison museum, better known to Americans as the Hanoi Hilton.

In the afternoon, you will have a walking tour to experience the real Hanoi through Hanoi’s Old Quarter along winding streets whose names include Coffin Street, Silk Street, Chicken Street, Basket Street offering an exciting glimpse into Hanoi life.
This evening you will experience a wonderful performance of Vietnamese Water Puppetry. Indigenous to Vietnam with a history that dates back to 1121 the performance is a combination of short 5 minute stories with tales of dragons, heroes, peasant farmers, animals, birds, fish, good and evil. The stories are universal and the actions of the puppets speak for themselves. Each performance is accompanied by a small musical group playing Vietnamese classical and folk music. Includes: (B).

Day 16: Hanoi - Ha Long. After breakfast, you will be driven 3.5 hours to Halong Bay. The journey there through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, observe everyday life of Vietnamese villagers as they work the rice fields, take pigs to the market on motorbikes and plough the fields with their water buffaloes. Check in the boat and visit to one of the most beautiful cave on the bay.
The rock formations are full of lovely grottos, caves and small beaches.

A journey by imperial Vietnamese junk allows you to wander through these rock formations which legend says were made by a mighty dragon whose feet caused the formation of mountains in the sea. These uniquely shaped islands rival the mysterious landscape of Guilin, China, and were designated by UNESCO as one of the natural wonders of the world. In the afternoon, we will stop at a beach and swim if you wish. The boat will then proceed to a quiet cove to set up anchor for the night. All your meals will be provided on board, usually based on fresh seafood, and you’ll sleep in a twin cabin with an en suite toilet and shower. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 17: Ha Long - Hanoi. You will have a light breakfast pastry and tea or coffee and spend the morning cruising Ha Long Bay, followed by brunch just before docking around noon and leaving for Hanoi. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 18: Hanoi departure. You’ll be free until your driver arrives to take you to Noi Bai airport for your departure flight. Includes: (B).
