Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Cotonou. Arrival at Benin International Airport. Assistance and transfer to Benin Marina Hotel. Dinner and Overnight. Day 2: Cotonou - Porto-Novo. Breakfast. Departure to Porto – Novo. Visit the Ethnographic Museum, Silva Museum, Bimyns Tourism. Center: Lunch. Drive back to Cotonou. Visit the International Market, the Handicrafts Center. Dinner. Overnight. Day 3: Cotonou - Ouidah. Breakfast. Today we head west to Ouidah, birthplace of voodoo and also one one of West Africa’s most active slave-trading ports from 1800 to 1850. We start at the the Sacred Forest where we may experience a naming ceremony. Continue to the house of Brasil now an excellent Museum chronicling the violent days when Ouidah was a slave center. The history told here is a refreshing and interesting look at the ugly chapter. Lunch at Restaurant les Retrouvailles. Visit the high priest of voodoo in his private conclave. Later, we cap off the day by retracing the Road of Slaves. We return to Cotonou. Dinner. Overnight. Day 4: Cotonou - Allada - Abomey. Breakfast and departure to Allada, Birthplace of Toussaint Louverutre, Native of Allada and Founding Hero of Haiti. Visit the Memorial to Toussaint Louverture. Arrival and welcome reception with courtesy visit to the Adjahouto Superior Chief (Family of Toussaint Louverutre). Experience traditional dancers Departure, the famous capital of the powerful kingdom of Dan-Home. Lunch at Motel d’Abomey. Visit the place of Goho and the Museum of Antiquities. Learn about the famous Amazones the lady warriors of Dan-home. Visit the Royal Palace of Gbindo. Welcome Reception by the King with traditional dancers. Dinner and overnight at Sun City Hotel of Abomey. Day 5: Abomey - Natitingou. Breakfast. After breakfast continue to Natitingou. Arrive at Parakou, lunch. Continue to Natitingou. Arrival at Natitingou, Tata Somba Hotel. Dinner and Overnight. Day 6: Natitingou - Pendjari. Breakfast. Continue to Pendjari. Lunch at Tanougou. Visit the Waterfalls. Safari Vision to Pendjari. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Pendjari. Day 7: Pendjari. Breakfast. Safari - Vision. Lunch at Hotel Pendjari. Continue the Safari- Vision. Dinner and overnight. Day 8: Pendjari - Natitingou. Breakfast. Safari to Hotel Porga. Arrive and lunch at Hotel Porga. Continuation to Natitingou. Dinner and overnight. Day 9: Natitingou - Cotonou. Breakfast. Depart to Cotonou. Cold meal on the way. Back to Cotonou. Dinner and overnight at Marina hotel. Day 10: Cotonou - Ganvie. Breakfast. After breakfast explore the craft center, Dantokpa Market and boutiques of Cotonou. You will find goods from neighboring countries as well as the applique cloth for which Benin is famous. Lunch after that we take a short ride to the waterways of Ganvié the built on stilts. Many years ago the early settlers of Ganvié fled from their enemies to find sanctuary here in the waters of Lake Nokoué. Nowadays, 30.000 inhabitants live in the area, most making a living from fishing. Purchase interesting painting and other goods here. Dinner. Day 11: Shopping. Breakfast. Shopping. Lunch. Farewell dinner and overnight. Day 12: Departure. Breakfast. Continuation of your Shopping. Transfer to Cotonou International Airport. Assitance with custom formalities and departure.
