It's the land of the Bamiléké and Bamoun, land of numerous culture and mountainous regions. Bafoussam, is the capital of the Western region. It's the province of culture and tradition. It has a population of about 68 000 inhabitants and one of the most populous regions of Cameroon. The cities of Bafoussam, Foumban are full of the best in culture. These are heritage in the region. The quality and quantity of hospitality institutions are in abundance in this region and prices of everything here are every low.

This palace was constructed in 1917 by sultan Njoya on plans he invented by himself. This enormous three stories edifice is constructed with original materials with some oriental and medieval touch. It was constructed in brown bricks, with special resinous trees collected from the king lion and other friends of the palace, under the personal supervision of king Njoya. Construction was difficult because of the inconsistency of terrain and material used. The palace was reconstructed by UNESCO in 1981 and since been declared World heritage site by Unecco. The palace has large opening coverer with different palm trees.
The royal museum of the palace is of renowned international standard. Found in the middle of the palace and has private collection of the sultan retracing the history and memories of past Bamoun sultans. The museums are well organized with trained experienced and understand all the history of the different treasures, thrones, pearls, corries, war trophies shields, clothes, caps, writings, pipes, marks bronze statues decorated calabashes with teeth of humans captured during tribal wars and a special room concentrated with personal objects of king Mbouombouo the king who has 10 meters long.
The museum of arts and tradition of the Bamoun situated about 1 Km from the palace of the sultan. By its organization and its riches, its one of the best museum has many rooms with objects very typical on the arts and Bamoun traditions such as the snake with two heads (symbol of strength) and the spider (symbol of wisdom, hard work and peace).
Handicraft Street: this is the street that leads to the museum of arts and tradition of the Bamoun. The works shops of artist and the stores of antiques are lined on both sides of the road. Originality of this street is that the handicrafts are done at the eyes of guests (weaves, broiders, blacksmiths, sculptures the end product are Masks, statues, etc).
Day 1: Douala – Bafang – Bangangté. Departure in the morning to the falls Ekom Nkams. Continuation to Bafang with stopover at Mouankeu. Arrival to Bafang, visit the Bana palace, continuation to Bangangté, arrival and night.
Day 2: Bangangté – Bangoua – Bandjoun. Visit of the Bangangté palace, tour of city then departure for Bangoua. Visit of the famous hospital of Bangoua. Continuation for Bandjoun, visit of the palace with its museum. The departure for Bafoussam, city crossroads of the Grassfiels.
Day 3: Bafoussam – Baleng. Visit of the palace and the museum, tour of the city. Discovery of the Metchié falls and departure to the Baleng Lake. Picnic around the Lake, visit of the palace and return to Bafoussam.
Day 4: Bafoussam – Foumbot – Foumban. Early departure for Foumbot, stop by the bridge of the Noun, walk very close to the stream Foumbot, agricultural village. Visit of the Petponoun Lake, then of the Mbapit Mount with his/her/its impressive Lake of crater. Continuation for Foumban and night.
Day 5: Foumban – Bafoussam. Visit of Foumban, city of craftsmen. Visit of the old palace of the Sultan Njoya, constructed in 1917. A tour to the artisan center and discovery of a factory of bronze melting in the village of craftsmen. Return to Bafoussam and night.
Day 6: Bafoussam – Mbouda – Dschang. Departure for Mbouda, discovery of the Mantubes falls and tour in the underground cave of Ndovou. Return in the city and departure for Dschang with stopover at Bafou. Visit of another plantation of tea of the CDC. Arrival at Dschang, walk to the climatic center constructed in 1942.
Day 7: Dschang – Bafoussam – Douala. In the morning, departure for Fongo-Tongo for the dicovery of the impressive fall Mamy water. Discovery of bauxite fields then, visit to the Foto palace. Return to the city center and run to Douala while passing through Bafoussam. Continuation on Douala and end.
