Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Antananarivo (Tana). Reception at Ivato international airport by our representatives. Accommodation at an hotel. Half boarding and lodging. Day 2: Tana – Antsirabe. Early morning departure for Antsirabe "Malagasy vichy water". Travel trough the Imerina high plateau decorated by traditional houses. Break at Ambatolampy for visiting the "museum of nature", a refuge of different species of insects. We will continue the road after lunch. Get to Antsirabe in the afternoon. Walk around the town. You can visit some embroidery workshops, horn carving workshops and so on. Half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 3: Antsirabe – Ranomafana. On the way to Ranomafana. We will do a long travel with some breaks like at Ambositra, the head quarter of Malagasy handcrafts. You can visit some Zafimaniry workshops where you will discover the famous carving of precious wood (rosewood – ebony), marquetry. After lunch, we will continue our way. Get to Ranamafana at the end of the day. Half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 4: Ranomafana. Visit of the Ranomafana National Park, a little village lost in the tropical rain forest of the East. The park is a shelter of about 12 species of nocturnal and diurnal lemurs, other mammal species like the "fosa" and different species of orchids and arborescent ferns. Picnic lunch to foresee. Come back to the hotel at the end of the day. Board and lodging. Day 5: Ranomafana – Fianarantsoa. The tour continues along the road to Fianarantsoa, the capital city of Betsileo. You will visit the town with its history, and the famous plantation of tea in the Sahambavy region, half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 6: Fianarantsoa – Ranohira. Early departure for Ranohira. Arriving at Ambalavao, you will visit the Antemoro paper manufacture (papers on which flowers are carefully stuck, made by craftsmen with the same technique as the Egyptian papyrus). Keep on our way to the South, when we get in the Southern region, the climate is a little bit hot, and you can admire the huge and bondless grassy savannas). Obviously, half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 7: Ranohira (Isalo). Day for visiting the Isalo national park, you will be amazed at the natural shape of Jurassic sandstones. The erosion has carved deep canyons where strange shape of peaks bristle. This huge landscape is formed by grassy plain and stony desert. A botanical garden in a western-like scenery, the park is composed of fauna and flora particularly adapted to rocky steep slope. Picnic lunch to foresee. Back to the hotel at the end of the day. Half boarding and lodging at there. Day 8: Ranohira – Tulear – Ifaty. Along the way to Tulear, a town situated on the Capricorn tropic, you will discover the first baobabs and many Mahafaly tombs with their totems. Transfer to Ifaty, a wonderful sea-side resort. Half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 9: Ifaty or Anakao. Relaxation day at the Hotel, a sea-side resort ideal for diving. Half boarding and lodging at the hotel. Day 10: Ifaty – Tuléar – Tana.
