Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel for a short orientation. Day 2: City Tour of Accra. A drive through the principal and historic places of Accra such as the suburbs of British and Dutch Accra, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the art and cultural centre, the independence square and the fancy coffin centre. Overnight in Accra. Day 3: Early morning transfer to Techiman (Brong Ahafo Region) with a few stops on the way. Visit the Tano Boase Sacred Grove, a 12th Century settlement of the Bono people of Ghana. Overnight in Techiman. Day 4: Transfer to Mole National Park (Northern Region) with a stop at the Kintampo Waterfalls and Tamale for lunch. Overnight in Mole. Day 5: Walking Safari and relaxation in the Park. A short visit to Larabanga community and the oldest Mosque in Ghana. Day 6: Transfer to Kumasi (Astanti Region) with a stop at Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary to see how monkeys and humans live together. Overnight in Kumasi. Day 7: Visit the craft villages of Kumasi and later relax at the banks of Lake Bosumtwi. Overnight in Kumasi. Day 8: Visit the Manhyia Palace and explore shortly the Kejetia Market, the biggest open market in West Africa, and later transfer to Cape Coast (Central Region). Overnight in Cape Coast. Day 9: Excursion to Kakum National Park, a rain forest, for a canopy walk. Visit the Elmina Castle and later transfer to Beyin (Western Region). Overnight in Beyin in wooden houses on the beach. Day 10: Excursion to Nzulezo stilt village and later transfer to Axim for relaxation. Overnight at Axim. Day 11: Relaxation and transfer to Cape Coast in the evening. Overnight in Cape Coast. Day 12: Tranfer to Akosombo through Accra with a stops at Aburi Gardens and Krobo Odumasi beads village. Overnight in Akosombo. Day 13: Excursion to Wli waterfalls (Volta Region), the highest waterfall in West Africa, and later transfer to the village of Biakpa. Traditional drumming and dancing with the local people. Overnight in Biakpa. Day 14: Nature trail walk and the valley of Biakpa. Later visit Amedzofe township, the highest habitation of Ghana, and mountain Gemi, the second highest mountain in Ghana. Later travel to Akosombo. Overnight in Akosombo. Day 15: Relaxation and an excursion to Akosombo Hydro dam and surrounding villages. Day 16: A short boat trip on the Volta Lake after breakfast and later transfer to Accra for shopping and departure. Notes: Price per person (for a group of 8, without flight): €900.
