This is the only guided tour to Historic Hassel Island, part of the Virgin Islands National Park which is situated inside Charlotte Amalie’s Harbor guarding the entrance. This tour leaves from Virgin Islands Ecotours Frenchtown Marina location, and kayakers paddle twenty minutes to Fort Willoughby overlooking the cruise ships and Frenchman’s Reef. Paddle past Danish and British Colonial ruins and Careening Cove. A brief hike brings you to Fort Willoughby, a British Fort from the Napoleonic era and the Garrison House. Paddle to the historic Creque Marine Railway which is undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation by the Park Service. The tour concludes with a visit to Garden Beach allowing you to to relax in the shade, cool off with a dip in the beach or enjoy a guided snorkel.
- Tour Length: 3 hours
- Tour Departure Times: 9:30 am on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Depart from dock at Frenchtown Marina.
- Rates: Adults $89.00
- Provided Free: Snorkel gear and instruction, safety equipment, dry bag, beverages and snack.
- Tour Requirements: This is a strenuous tour and includes 20 minutes of paddling each way. Participants should be 16 years or over and in good physical condition.
