The Platano River Biosphere Reserve was established by the U.N. and the Honduras government to protect the outstanding cultural and natural resources of the Rio Platano valley. Here you still find virgin jungle and a large number of endangered species such as scarlet macaws, toucans, harpy eagles, jaguars and tapirs. Miskito and Pech Indians live along the river Platano growing yucca, bananas, corn and beans as well as hunting and fishing.
See the Platano River Biosphere where many of your fantasies will come true: exploring tropical rain-forest catching a glimpse of exotic wildlife and engaging in cross-cultural interchange with indigenous people. Your Itinerary Day 1: La Ceiba - Brus Laguna. According to flight changes we will take a jungle plane from La Ceiba to Brus Laguna.
