The Lower Rogue River is not just a fishing trip, it is a fishing adventure. This fishing trip is unique because it is a one way, 65 mile journey down the 'Wild and Scenic' Rogue River, a spectacular place filled with history, romance and adventures of the Old West. The scenery and wildlife are so spectacular that the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management has protected it by declaring the area 'Wild and Scenic'. Lodge to lodge accommodations each night along the way. All fishing gear provided. We fish for Chinook 'King" salmon, Coho salmon 'Silver' and steelhead. This trip is the wilderness trip of a life time comparable to Alaskan fishing trips at 1/3 the cost.
Your Itinerary Day 1 - Meet at the river put-in at approximately 8:00 am. Dry bags are passed out for personal items to be stored in. Guides are introduced and boat assignments for the day decided upon. Fish, enjoy the scenery and rapids then lunch. After lunch while the anglers walk aroung Rainie Falls, a Class 6 rapid, their boatmen rope the dories through the side channel, around the falls. Then more fishing arriving at the 1st night's lodge, Black Bar Lodge. Includes: (L) (D) Day 2 - Breakfast at 7:30 am, then more fishing and scenery until lunch. Lunch is a deli lunch plus the mornings catch, skinned, smoked in alder leaves cut from along the river bank and cooked over a open fire. After lunch we fish, running the beautiful and exciting Mule Creek Canyon, Blossom Bar and Devils Staircase Rapids, celebrating the exhilaration at Champagne Beach. Then on to Paradise Lodge for the evenings stay. Includes: (B) (L) (D) Day 3 - Breakfast at 7:30 am, more fishing and a float through Huggins Canyon. After lunch with more smoked fish and salmon pate from the day before we fish to the area called Agness. Staying at the Singing Springs Lodge which features the biggest prime rib you have ever seen. Includes: (B) (L) (D) Day 4 - Breakfast at 7:30 am. We fish more of the beautiful Rogue River Canyon, fishing until 2:00 pm and taking off the river at Quosatana Park. Many times the last day features the best fishing and if you want to take fresh salmon or steelhead filets home, this is the day to do it.
