This fully guided, moderately priced, tour is designed primarily for the first time visitor to Egypt, who has limited time. It is a 12 day, 11 night (including international travel which is available for an added cost), trip which includes visits to the most important and famous pharaonic monuments in Egypt, including Abu Simbel at no extra cost. There are also brief visits to the most important Islamic, Coptic and Jewish sites in Cairo. A high standard of quality is maintained throughout, including stays in five star hotels and a five star cruise ship.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Depart from New York for Cairo. International air is available at an extra cost.

Day 2: Arrive in Cairo and Transfer to the historic 5 star pyramid Mena hotel located at the base of the pyramids.

Day 3: Esplore the Giza Plateau for the entire day, including the pyramids of Khufu, Khafra and Menkaura as well as the Solar Boat Museum of King Khufu and the Sphinx of King Khafra. We will also visit some private tombs. Includes: (B).

Day 4: The necroplis of Saqqara awaits us today with the pyramid of Djoser, the pyramid of Teti with its inscribed texts, and several private tombs. After lunch we will visit the open air museum at ancient Memphis. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 5: Fly to Luxor and board our Nile Cruise boat. Visit Karnak, the world's largest temple complex, built over a period of 1,000 years. In the evening we visit Luxor Temple. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Drive to the West bank to visit the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamen's tomb, the valley of the Queens, the temple of the female king, Hatshepsut, at dier el Bahri and the Calossi of Memnon. We set sail for Aswan in the early afternoon. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Our boat stops to visit the temples of Horus at Edfu and the twin temples of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo. We arrive at Aswan late in the evening. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: The Temple of Isis at Philae, considered by many to be Egypt's most beautiful, and the ancient granite quarry with its unfinished obelisk. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: In the morning fly to visit the fantastic rock cut temples of Rameses II at Abu Simbel. In the afternoon relax as we sail on the Nile in a felucca. Fly to Luxor in the evening and check into the new wing of the historic Winter Palace Hotel. Includes: (B).

Day 10: Travel to the West Bank again to see the workers village at Dier el Medina and visit Sennedjem's tomb, one of the most colorful and best preserved in Egypt. We include the Ramessium (the mortuary temple of Rameses II) and Medinet Habu ( the temple and palace of Rameses III and the best preserved New Kingdon Temple). Includes: (B), (D).

Day 11: Fly to Cairo in the morning and check into the Hilton Hotel, downtown. The afternoon will be spent at the Egyptian Museum where we'll see the Treasures of King Tutankhamen and the Royal Mummy room. Includes: (B).

Day 12: Today we head downtown to visit Old Cairo with its Christian, Jewish and Islamic past. In the evening we will visit the world famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Includes: (B).

Day 13: Return to New York and home. Includes: (B).
