Las Leñas is unlike any ski village you have ever experienced. It lies high in the Andes and includes 650,000 acres of gigantic alpine ski terrain. Its architecture is non-traditional using lots of rock with few right angles and gives the impression its buildings are leaning back against the moon - like landscape.
Las Leñas spans two incredible ski domains. There is skiing for all abilities and styles; off-piste skiers will find uncrowded slopes offering enormous potential to enjoy untracked powder at a leisurely pace. Several nearby sights await you in the Los Molles Valley. The thermal waters of the Saldo River and the Pozo Delas Alnimas offer a breathtaking 3000 foot deep underground lagoon. International skiers should not miss the experience of Las Leñas. Your Itinerary Day 1: From your U.S. departure city, arrive Buenos Aires, and transfer planes to Malargua, Argentina. Transfer bus will pick you up at Malargua airport and take you directly to Las Lenas Resort. Balance of day free for acclimatization and relaxation. (D). Day 2: Ski Las Leñas! Over 4000 feet (1200 M) of vertical awaits guests, with terrain to suit all tastes (5% Beginner, 30% Intermediate, 25% Advanced, 40% Expert). (B/D). Day 3: Ski Las Leñas! This mega resort for 3000 people is all ski in - ski out! Enjoy a casino, fabulous restaurants, spa, swimming, disco, night skiing, shopping, and all the amenities of a world-class resort. (B/D). Day 4: Ski Las Leñas! Enjoy great winter sports from Mid-June until early October in one of the Southern Hemisphere's largest ski resorts. This is where many national ski teams train during their offseason. With some luck, maybe even rub shoulders with Herman Meier, or Bode Miller!! (B/D). Day 5: Ski Las Leñas! Adventure skiing off-piste offers a half-million acres in addition to the 40 miles or so of marked terrain serviced by lift. Or venture above the resort by snow cat for even more vertical. (B/D). Day 6: Ski Las Leñas! Nordic and touring skiers will find plenty of terrain, but need to be careful with respect to the avalanche danger these beautiful mountains produce. (B/D). Day 7: Ski Las Leñas! This gigantic ski area at Valle de Las Leñas is aptly described in one simple statement - On a clear day, you can ski forever! (B/D). Day 8: Ski Las Lenas! You'll have a lifetime of summer riding stories to tell the folks back home! Make it count! (B/D). Day 9: Depart Las Lenas for Malargua, Buenos Aires and connecting flights home. We recommend relaxing in Buenos Aires for the night; ask our travel specialists for ideas and suggestions. (B).
