You will be able to see the agriculture of Northern Thailand and the flora of the forested areas. There is also an elephant ride and a stretch of rafting to add a bit of fun and excitement. Accommodation in Chiang Mai is in 4 star hotels and transportation to the trek area is by air-conditioned vehicle. This is a private trek so itinerary and departure dates are guaranteed. Accommodation in Chiang Mai can be either 3 or 4 star hotels, boutique hotels or resorts. Price will adjust according to choice.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrive at Chiang Mai Airport, where you are picked up and transferred to your hotel. Your guide will meet with you in the evening to inform you about the trek. Day 2: You are picked up from your hotel at 9am and drive north of Chiang Mai. The first stop is at an elephant camp where you take an elephant ride and glide down the river on bamboo rafts. After lunch, continue on driving to the start of the trek. It's a 3 hr. hike to the village where we spend the night. This village has both the Karen and Lahu hill tribes living in close proximity to each other. Here we spend the night. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: After breakfast we start the day's hike which is a total of 4 hrs. We pass through some Akha villages during the day and look at some of the hill tribe farms on the hillsides. At the end of the day we arrive at an Akha village where we spend the night. Your guide will explain about the Akha tribe and their customs. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: On the third day of the trek walk mostly downhill to a Lisu village. We pass more farms and are able to learn about the Lisu, a tribe of Chinese origin. After lunch we drive back to Chiang Mai. On arrival in Chiang Mai you are taken to your hotel. Includes: (B), (L). Day 5: You are transferred from your hotel to Chiang Mai Airport. Includes: (B). Notes: Note: This is a private trek so the price depends on the number of people making the booking. The price will be adjusted according to group size. You may choose your accommodation from a range of 3 or 4 star hotels or boutique hotels and resorts.
