With Nance you'll explore how a successful portrait is an intimate glimpse at our subject's soul. Her strength as an instructor are the one on one sessions she spends with each student. So you'll have time out shooting together, where she can best address your primary issues and learning challenges. In addition, during group class sessions, she'll discuss the best possible image with only the natural light available to you (she shoots exclusively w available light) - gear, self-editing IN the camera, appropriate backgrounds and tips on working with people.
You'll have many opportunities to photograph indigenous Guatemala - The Living Maya - at colorful markets, women buying and selling their daily wares, weaving their trajes, living as they have for centuries. We schedule our workshops during local festivals, such as Todos Santos (Nov 1) and Semana Santa (to see pre-Lenten processions) that provide even more opportunity to come home with incredible images!
What a fabulous opportunity to stretch yourself as a photographer while being totally immersed in one of the most colorful locations in the world. We base out of Antigua but also travel to gorgeous Lake Atitlan - and sometimes even further into the highlands to Xela or Nebaj. Incredible images abound!
