As a photojournalist specializing in Central American countries, (she lived in Ecuador until recently) Caroline will discuss working in third world countries and the issues encountered by travel photographers. There will be assignments, one on one shooting with the instructor out in the field and time to review student's ongoing work. Daily print critique sessions are an important part of the learning experience.
You'll have many opportunities to photograph indigenous Guatemala - The Living Maya - at colorful markets, women buying and selling their daily wares, weaving their trajes, living as they have for centuries. Each class spends time in the western highlands - to Lake Atitlan - breathtakingly gorgeous, particularily during that 'magic hour' when its three volcanoes rise out of the early morning mists. There you'll visit local markets and picturesque villages along the lake's shores. Incredible images abound!
