Egyptian Odyssey is a 15 day 14 night, all inclusive tour of Egypt and the Nile valley from Cario to Abu Simbel. Our nights are spent at 5 star hotels and we include a 3 night, 5 star, Nile cruise. Participants are accompanied by an degreed Egyptologist as guide which, together with the sites we have selected to visit, make this the best tour to Egypt available for the enthusiast.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Travel from New York to Cairo on your own. International air is available at extra cost. Includes: (D).

Day 2: Arrive in Cairo. Our stall will meet you at the airport to transfer to the historic 5 star Mena House Hotel at the base of the pyramids. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 3: Today we tour the Giza Plateau in the morning with an optioanl walking tour of the plateau in the afternoon. You will visit the Pyramids, Sphinx, valley temple and several nobles' tombs. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: A short drive will bring us to Saqqara and the step pyramid of Djoser, pyramid of Teti, nobles tombs, the ancient capital of Memphis with the magnificant colossus of Rameses II. We fly to Luxor in the evening, Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Spent the entire morning at Karnak, the worlds largest temple complex and the Luxor Museum, one of Egypt's finest. The afternoon free. After dinner at a local restaurant we will visit Luxor Temple in the evening for a spectacular after dark tour. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Today we travel to the West Bank of Luxor, including the workers village at Deir el Madina, a hike over the hill (or bus ride if you prefer) to the Valley of the Kings with the tomb of Tutankhamun and other New Kingdom royal tombs, and Queen Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el Bahri. The remainder of the day is free. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Returning to the West Bank, we will visit the Ramesseum (Rameses II), Medinet Habu (Rameses III), the Valley of the Queens and the Colossi of Memnon (Amunhotep III). Board our cruise boat on return to Luxor. The afternoon is free. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: The day is free until our boat sets sail for Awsan. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: Today we continue sailing from Luxor to Awsan, visiting the Temple of Horus at Edfu and the twin Temples of Horus and Sobek at Kom Ombo along the way. We arrive in Aswan late this evening. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 10: Take a relaxing felucca ride to visit the archeological site at Elepantine Island, the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener's Island and (without crowds) the 6th and 12th Dynasty nobles tombs on the West Bank. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 11: We will fly to visit the magnificent rock cut temples of Rameses II at Abu Simbel. Our afternoon is free to enjoy the sights and sounds of the town. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 12: The unfinished obelisk in the ancient granite quarry, the new Nubia Museum (one of Egypt's finest) and the beautiful Temple of Isis at Philae. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 13: Fly to Cairo in the morning and check into the Hilton Hotel, downtown. In the afternoon visit the Cairo Museum with the royal mummy room and the treasures of Tutankhamun. In the evening, we visit the Khan el Khalili Bazaar for shopping and our farewell dinner. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 14: Today we set off to visit Old Cairo with its Coptic (Christian) and Islamic past, the citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque. The rest of the day free. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 15: Fly back to New York and home. Includes: (B), (L).
