Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Via Worcester travel the scenic route to Oudtshoorn known as "The Feather Capital of the World" because of the flourishing ostrich industry. Palatial homes known as "feather palaces" sprang up during the boom years are a distinctive feature of the town. Lunch is at an Ostrich farm. Overnight: Oudtshoorn. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 2: Morning visit to Cango Caves, internationally renowned as one of the world's great natural wonders. Travel over the Outeniqua Pass through George, to the Wilderness and the Lake District. Travel past Plettenberg Bay, SA's premier holiday resort, though the Bloukrans pass to the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve. Overnight: Storms River. Includes: (B), (L). Day 3: The Big Tree (Ancient Yellowwood), to Keurbooms River, visit Plettenberg Bay and get up-close-and-personal with nature at the Knysna Elephant Park with the help of the three resident African elephants - Harry, Sally and Duma. In the heart of this ‘Garden Route’ is the picturesque town of Knysna. Beaches, lakes, mountains and rivers provide endless opportunity for leisure and outdoor activities. Within the town, art & craft shops, flea-markets and cosy cafe’s beckon with small-town charm and hospitality. Afternoon shopping in Knysna. Overnight: Knysna. Includes: (B), (L). Day 4: Visit the Kynsna Heads, quaint holy Trinity Church in Belvidere and Brenton-on-Sea. Take a Ferry ride for lunch in the Featherbed Nature Reserve before visiting the Reserve. Overnight: Knysna. Includes: (B), (L). Day 5: Leave Knysna for Cape Town, stopping in Mossel Bay to visit the Diaz Museum and the post office tree.
