Prefer not being swamped in mass tourist crowds? Then you will love the freedom and independence of your own yacht! Along with the company of a small group of like-minded adventurers who share your love of the outdoors and exploring off-the-beaten track places; this is an adventure in making new friends as well as experiencing new cultures and countries. Greece is our original "home", where we started our share-a-boat concept back in '91. Despite the fun we've had expanding to other exotic destinations, we're still in love with our home islands, and our wonderful local friends who make all the difference to our clients by their spontaneous, outgoing hospitality! Never sailed before? Not a problem!
All it takes is an adventurous spirit, a love of the water and outdoors in general - and we can teach you the ropes from there! Why the Dodecanese islands? Because they are well off the usual "package tour" routes, and so retain many of the Greek traditions which are sadly now lost to the more well-known "touristy" islands. If you'd prefer to stay within sailing distance of McDonald's - visit the islands every has heard of such as Mykonos, Santorini, etc. Our philosophy is "No Surprises" - and that's exactly what we mean with our inclusive price deal. Once you step on board, all is covered - provisioning for breakfasts, lunches, snacks, drinks (yes, even your beers and cocktails!). All onboard expenses, skipper, sailing instruction are included. The only exception is dinners ashore and travel to/from the boats. For those of us who would prefer to avoid the cruise ship crowds and experience a little of the "real" local culture - we're right on the same page! Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Embark 11am in Leros. After boat briefing and getting comfortable with the yacht, we set sail for Agathonissi, for a colourful evening at George’s taverna! George is the unofficial harbour master who loves an excuse for a party on an otherwise quiet and isolated island. About 3 hours sail time. Includes: (L). Day 2: Morning sail for Marathi – a perfect, tiny Greek island retreat with little, horseshoe-shaped sandy bay. This place is a magical balm for the stressed-out city-living soul. Includes: (B), (L). Day 3: Sail to Patmos – a short hop of only a couple of hours. This is the famous monastery island, where St John (as of Apostle fame) was inspired by visions to write the Book of Revelations. The village that lies at the foot of the monastery is everyone’s romantic image of what a Greek village should be like. Includes: (B), (L). Day 4: Mostly in Patmos – there’s so much to do and see here, it's hard to drag people away! Great place to hire little 50 cc scooters and explore… or mountain bikes for the more energetic; or join us for a hike to a really cool, sandy "clothing-optional" beach! Late in the afternoon, we'll sail for Arki - another tiny fishing village, and Manoli's oasis-like little taverna. Includes: (B). Day 5: Sail to Lipsos – the island of the 42 blue-domed churches. It’s a quiet, very untouristy island. If we’re lucky and conditions are calm, we may be able to visit Aspro Nisi (“White Island”) en route; this a real stunning little island out in the middle of nowhere. Includes: (B), (L). Day 6: Sail to Leros, to our home marina in Lakki on the western side. Spend the afternoon winding down on the little beach just around the corner! Farewell dinner at Vromolithos – a beautiful beachfront taverna with the most amazing views over the bay. Includes: (B), (L). Day 7: Disembarkation at 9:00 am. Member discount: Notes: Price Includes:
