Day 1: San Pedro Sula – Copán Ruinas Our guide awaits you at the reception of your hotel at your convenient time. Visit to the traditional and colorful handcraft Guamilito market before heading to Copán Ruinas. The transfer will take about 3 hours. On the way you may observe the diversity of landscapes Honduras has to offer. Your hotel is located in the center of the small relaxed village of Copán Ruinas. In the afternoon you will have plenty of time to discover and enjoy it by yourself. 2 nights accommodation at the Hotel Marina Copán. Day 2: Copán Ruinas After breakfast our guide will guide you on a 30 minute walk to the famous Mayan sites of Copán. The Maya developed into the New World's most sophisticated ancient civilization. The city-state of Copán became the Maya's crowning artistic achievement, the cultural apex of Maya civilization. Visit the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán Ruins and learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterful carvings. Appreciate to its full the significant number of ruins surrounded by giant trees that provide shades all over the site. Day 3: Copán Ruinas - Tela Today we leave Copán and continue to the caribbean town of Tela. Before reaching Tela we visit Lancetilla Botanical Garden. Here you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well tropical fruit trees from all over the world. More than 300 bird species has also been counted, among them toucans, hummingbirds, kingfishers and many others. Afterwards transfer to your hotel in Tela. 2 overnights at Hotel Villas Telamar right on the sandy beach. Day 4: Punta Izopo National Park In the morning we leave for Punta Izopo National Park. This excursion involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and silently sneak up on the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Day 5: Tela – Pico Bonito Lodge In the morning leisure time to relax on the beach or on the beautiful pool at the hotel. Later transfer to the Lodge Pico Bonito, one of the best lodges in the region and „Small Luxury Hotels of the World". The lodge is located just a few miles from the city of La Ceiba, at the entrance of National Park Pico Bonito, Honduras' second largest protected area. You will spend two nights here, relaxing and exploring the natural surroundings. Day 6: Pico Bonito National Park A local guide will experience with you the National Park this day. The 2,436 meter high Pico Bonito peak is the centerpiece of the park of the same' name. It's the third highest peak of the country. In the morning you will have a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountain looming and the nearby town La Ceiba. Within the protected area you will also find waterfalls up to 25m high. Day 7: Pico Bonito Lodge – La Ceiba Airport You will be transferred to the airport in La Ceiba, where your trip ends. Take a flight (not included) back to San Pedro Sula or continue your tour with a visit to the Caribbean Bay Islands! Notes: Prices:
