Gold was discovered near Eagle, Alaska over 10 years before the famous Klondike rush in the Yukon Territory. Follow the Yukon river route of prospectors and trappers through the gorgeous scenery of Yukon-Charley National Preserve. Our Voyageur is extremely stable and perfect for multi-age groups or people with limited or no paddling experience. Family groups, senior citizens and handicapped persons can paddle under the midnight sun in comfort and safety. Indulge in gourmet meals and camp most nights in tents. The last night will be at Circle Hot Springs Resort.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Start your trip with a scenic small plane flight over Yukon-Charley National Preserve and in to Eagle, Alaska. There you will be met by your guides and tour historic Fort Egbert. Lunch is on your own atthe local cafe. An afternoon visit to the Eagle Historical Society Museum still allows plenty of time to explore the small community. camp, get acquainted and organize near the banks of the might Yukon River.

Day 2: Wake to a delightful breakfast at the Falcon Inn B&B, pack up the Arctic Voyageur and set out on the Yukon River. Look for peregrine falcons in the cliffs. Camp that night on one of the Yukon's many gravel bars.

Day 3: Continue down the Yukon past rivers with musical names like the Tatonduk and Kandik. Camp again on a relatively bug-free gravel bar. Sing and share stories around the camp fire.

Day 4: More paddling and floating grants unparalled vistas at every turn of the river. Watch for moose and bear on the shoreline. Indulge in a gourmet dinner to end your day.

Day 5: Continue down the famous Yukon. Stop at Slavin's roadhouse for a short hike and tour. Paddle past the Charley River and scan the skies for peregrine falcons before camping for the night.

Day 6: More leisurely paddling provides more opportunities for wildlife and waterfowl viewing. Another great meal and scenic camp spot is a perfect end to a perfect day.

Day 7: Our last day on the river brings us to the community of Circle in the afternoon. Here we take out, meet by the Canoe Alaska bus and drive to Circle Hot Springs Resort to soak, feast and spend the night.

Day 8: After a light breakfast, head back towards Fairbanks. A stop at Pinnell Mountain will provide an opportunity for a stretch and short walk. Return to Fairbanks by ~ 1pm.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.

Price includes listed meals, air travel from Fairbanks to Eagle, 1 night double-room stay, swimming and museum fees and return drive to Fairbanks.
