Where better to practice yoga than where this sacred art originated? Enjoy India at its most accommodating in this setting of lush nature and beaches. Celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve with joy and increased vitality! This exclusive holistic holiday includes daily meditation, group and individual yoga classes, as well as day-trips, massages, Ayurveda and nutritional consultation.

The Venue. The venue Bhakti Kutir, which denotes an "abode for meditation", is built on a beautiful enclave near Colomb beach, just south of Palolem. Its owners, a Goan-German couple, have preserved the natural state of the landscape and the resort was constructed in an ecologically conscious manner solely using local materials. Accommodation ranges from single cabanas, suitable for a couple or one person, to single and double-stores cabanas with twin beds, where 2 - 4 people can share.

They all are with their own en-suite outdoor bathrooms and porches. The yoga platform is in a quiet corner of the compound, surrounded by trees and protected from the sun. The food in Bhakti Kutir's excellent organic restaurant Aahar combines delicious tastes with health-conscious cooking. There's even a juice bar with spirulina and wheat-grass shots. There are also many other little restaurants on Palolem and Patnem beaches, all within short walking distance.

The Yoga: The Quantum Method of Yoga Lara teaches is based on the Astanga Vinyasa system, as well as her studies of Shadow yoga and other Hatha yoga disciplines. The pranayama follows classical Indian methods and the meditation techniques are largely derived from Buddhist practices. There will be a morning meditation and pranayama session, followed by the main dynamic yoga practice of the day.

Lara will lead the class and you will receive extra support and adjustments from the assisting apprentices studying on the OmStation3 Teacher Training Program. A healthy, delicious and copious brunch will await you. In the afternoon, there will either be a second shorter group yoga class, or we will split up for private tuition given individually by the apprentices and partially under Lara's supervision, or massages and specialist consultations will be given.

Activities: There is a choice of day trips from a boat ride to see and swim with dolphins, visits to Anjuna and Baga's hippie ethnic markets, as well as traditional furniture, textile and pottery making workshops, and of course an exploration of the beautiful old Portuguese architecture and culture around Margao. Bhakti Kutir has a small amphitheatre, in which cultural performances are regularly given. Children are very welcome and can be arranged to be looked after and entertained during class times.

Bhakti Kutir offers many more possibilities to enjoy and pamper. There is a resident massage therapist, and two massages per guest are included in the price of the holiday. Internet facilities are available, and there is also an in-house tailor. Within walking distance there are many more beaches to visit. Motorbikes or taxis can be easily hired and there is a lot of beautiful nature to explore, as well as small towns with quaint Portuguese architecture. There will be a lecture on Ayurveda and advice on nutrition. Bhakti Kutir has a little library, with a range of texts on yoga and related subjects, if you would like to do some studying of your own.

Bhakti Kutir lays on a fabulous Christmas Eve celebration and grand buffet. On Christmas Day, the group will go on its first day trip to a beautiful private beach, where a delicious barbecue will be prepared and Lara will teach a sunset yoga class. On New Year's Eve we usually all go out for a big dinner together and then disperse onto the many beach parties, or for the more adventurous we can organize transport to the trance scene in Anjuna.
