This tour will give you the opportunity to check our vast biodiversity and dramatic landscapes!

Los Llanos (flat plains), is considered one of the ecosystems with the most important wetlands on the world! These vast plains shelter hundreds of bird species (over 300) and more than 50 mamals, promising encounters with anacondas, armadillos, peccaries, opossums, tapirs, ocelots, anteaters, caimans, Venezuela’s famous capybaras, bird species such as ibis, herons, cormorants, egrets, jacanas, gallinules and darters. It’s one of the best places in Venezuela for rafting. Los Llanos changes dramatically according to the season, from a dry expanse of ranchland in the winter to a vast, shallow lake in the summer.

After your wildlife safari, party with the cowboys of the Llanos under a blanket of stars. Llaneros are the hard-working cowboys of Venezuela famous for the joropos music they play on the cuatro (a tiny four-stringed guitar), the arpa (harp) and maracas, capturing the heart and culture of Venezuela.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Barinas - Mantecal (Los Llanos). From the Barinas airport you will be transferred to one of the most spectacular Hatos (ranches) in Venezuela! Between the airport of Barinas and the Hato, enjoy a 3-4 hour drive with our guide and marvel at the countryside. Overnight at a ranch. Includes: (L, D).

Day 2: Mantecal (Los Llanos). Spend the following day taking an excursion to observe the wildlife at its best! At the ranch there are over 250 species of birds and nearly 50 species of mammals, including jaguars, pumas, ocelots, white-tailed deer, foxes, capybaras, red howler and capuchin monkeys, opossums, anteaters, and armadillos, and over 40 species of reptiles, including caimans, green iguanas, anacondas, turtles and red-footed tortoises. Overnight at a ranch. Includes: (B, L, D).

Day 3: Mantecal (Los Llanos). Spend another day taking excursions to observe the magnificent wildlife. Overnight at a ranch. Includes: (B, L, D).

Day 4: Mantecal (Los Llanos) - Barinas. Take a morning excursion at the ranch. Around noon, head to the Barinas Airport. Includes: (B, L).
