Altai-Kazakh New Year and Animal sightseeings Kazakh nomads have lived in Central Asia for 400years, Kazakh culture is quite different from Mongolian.They are generally adhere rather loosely to Sunni Islam,but religion is not a major force as so they are nomadis.Kaakh gers are taller ,wider and more richly decorated than Mongolian version. Their main hoiday is the pre-islamic spring festival of Nauryz. March 15th Arrive UB Meet by our team and transfer to hotel.Welcome dinner in Mongolian traditional restaurant.Overnight in hotel(3*). March 16th To Ulgii Come to airport to catch the flight to Ulgii city.Fly 4hrs.Half an hour refuel stop in Tosontsengel or Moron.Transfer to the Canat’s GerCamp,overnight in Kazakh felt gers Visit the local museum of Ulgii town with comprenhensive information of flora and fauna of Bayan Ulgii aimag as well as it colourfull traditional costumes. March 17th -20th Blue Goat National Park Full day (5-6 hrs) drive towards to south from Ulgii about 200km.We will have picnic on the way,having the beautifull and remote country.Also we will stop near lake Tolbo. We visit one of the local eaglehunter’s family and stay there for few days.The Mongolian Kazakhs use for hunting female eagles as far they are bigger mail ones and more aggressive.These eagles are trained to hunt foxs,wolves,rabbit and wild cat.Every day going side by side with eaglehunter to hunt mostly fox we learn and enjoy this unique customs of the Mongolian Kazakhs.While making the eaglehunting, we will go by the wild big remote mountains of Blue Goat Nat.Park, where we can watch some Argalis,Ibexs and deers. This place has many wild endangerous animals and birds like snowleopard, Altai argali and Ibex,lynx,wolfrine and bearded volchure,black volchure,different kinds of falcons,golden eagle, and others.We have the chance to visit some Kazakh families and feel the grade hospitalities.Also you will see how Kazakh women make the handycrafts. March 21st Drive to Ulgii Drive a full (5-6 hrs) day to Olgii town.Overnight in gers. March 22-23rd Kazakh New Year - Nauryz Staying in Ulgii ,enjoy Kazakh New Year Celebration,Kazakh Traditional Games(Bush-Gashy,Kiss Woman on horseback,Pick up coins on Horseback and others),Kazakh Traditional Concert.You will enjoy kazakh culture,handycraft and their grade hospitality.In this country,the religion follows the our ancient nomadic customs. You will have chance to feel the life in Altai Kazakh felt gers. March 24th Fly Out Transfer to the airport and fly to UB approx.4 hrs. Some recommendations: Eaglehunting season in Mongolia are from early October to end of March. The western Mongolian winters are cold and dry with occasional snow,but most days have clean blue sky and strong sun. The temperature can fluctuate as much 20 degrees centigrade between day and night. What to bring: Warm and light clothing, binoculars,a hat,gloves,long underware for travel in the high mountains,comfortable footware,lip balm,sanitary hand wipes,sunglasses,prescription medications,(if needed),flashlight. Transport: For eaglehunting , local Kazakh people use horses.The services of some herdsmen will be hired by the expedition, and they will provide us with their animals. Staff: A local guide who speaks English and Mongolian will accompany the group at all times.A cook will follow, with an assistant.In addition, the services of the local herdsmen will be hired along with their animals.The horsemen follow a traditional lifestyle in the areas where we will be riding. Meals: Our cook will prepare the meals.We pride ourselves in having cooks adapt to both western and Mongolian cooking on our trips.There are always vegetables available, and we have no problem accommodating vegetarians on our trips.For breakfast we can usually buy fresh yogurt from the herdsmen in the local area.
