Day 2, Wednesday: Guided tour Tikal, transfer to Yaxha, night walk, camp at lake Yaxha. The day begins with a fascinating guided tour of the Tikal ruins and National Park. We climb Tikal's highest pyramids to enjoy spectacular views over the vast Mayan jungle. In the afternoon private transportation will bring you to Yaxha, Guatemala, the starting point of our bicycle adventure (with optional horseback riding) for the next day. Yaxha has a comfortable campsite by the banks of its turquoise-transparent lake where we will pick up our camping equipment and enjoy delicious local meals. At night we invite you to enjoy a guided night walk to explore nocturnal flora and fauna. Day 3, Thursday: Cycle or horseback riding to Nakum, visit ruins Nakum, camp at Nakum. Today we will follow a jungle road that leads us 17 km (11 miles) deeper into the jungle en route to another archaeological site, Nakum, Guatemala, For those that have off-road cycling experience this is a very enjoyable and challenging ride*.
