Masai Mara & Rift Valley & Tree Hotel & Amboseli & Tsavo & Mombasa (7 days). Departs 09:00hrs daily.
Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya, lying on the Indian Ocean. It has a major port and an international airport. The city is the centre of the coastal tourism industry. The original Arabic name is Manbasa; in Kiswahili it is called Kisiwa Cha Mvita (or Mvita for short), which means "Island of War", due to the many changes in its ownership. The town is also the headquarters of Mombasa District which, like most other districts in Kenya, is named after its chief town.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara. Descend into the Great Rift Valley and proceed to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, adjoining the famous Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. Lunch is provided at the lodge/camp. An extensive game drive is provided in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge, Keekorok Lodge, Mara Sarova Luxury Tented Camp or Mara Serena Lodge.
Day 2: Masai Mara. A second day is spent exploring this reserve noted for its black-manned lions, with three game drives provided. Meals and overnight as directly above.
Day 3: Masai Mara - Rift Valley. After breakfast the tour proceeds to Lake Naivasha or Nakuru for lunch. Both lakes are famous for their birds. After lunch a tour of Lake Nakuru National Park is provided, including a visit to the flamingo-rich Lake Nakuru. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.
Day 4: Rift Valley - Tree Hotel. After a relaxed breakfast, we drive to the North of Kenya, proceeding to the Aberdare forests. Lunch is provided at Mountain Lodge, Outspan Hotel (for visitors to Treetops) or Aberdare Country Club (for visitors to The Ark). The tree hotels are strategically situated on stilts for easy game viewing and have flood-lit waterholes and saltlicks. Dinner and overnight at Treetops, The Ark or Mountain Lodge.
Day 5: Tree Hotel - Amboseli. After breakfast, head for Amboseli Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge/camp. An afternoon game drive is then provided and you can enjoy a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena or Oltukai Lodge.
Day 6: Amboseli - Tsavo. An early morning game drive is provided in this game reserve. After breakfast, the tour leave for Tsavo West National Park via Mzima Springs, where from an underwater tank, it is sometimes possible to watch a hippo along the floor of these crystal springs. Tsavo is famous for its large herds of elephant. Lunch will be provided at your lodge/camp and thereafter you can enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight is at Kilaguni Lodge, Taita Hills or Salt Lick Lodge.
Day 7: Tsavo - Mombasa. A 6:30am game drive allows further exploration of this great park, according the opportunity to notice the large number of birds. It is estimated that Tsavo has over 500 species of birds. After breakfast the tour terminates in Mombasa.
