We try our best to tailor our holiday packages to each individual traveler. We have a wide variety of accommodation available from 3 star hotels to friendly B&Bs to campsites overlooking the sea. The following is an example of one of our itineraries for a week's holiday on the north coast of the peninsula.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at the Bryn Eisteddfod Country House Hotel in Clynnog Fawr. Clynnog Church was the traditional assembly point for medieval pilgrims making the journey to Bardsey Island and whose footsteps you follow. The Bryn Eisteddfod itself is a very comfortable 3-star hotel with en suite bedrooms. Excellent evening meals are available.
Day 2: After breakfast set out on the first section of the walk over the high moors at Bwlch Mawr. This is wild and rocky moorland with lovely views of the foothills of Snowdonia. This part is often shrouded in low-lying cloud so your GPS may come in very handy! The path will lead you down to the Village of Llanaelhaearn - lunch option at the Rivals Inn. Then continue on to the dramatic Iron Age fort at Tre’r Ceiri before continuing to the village of Llithfaen where you will be picked up and returned to the Bryn Eisteddfod. (Distance = 12 miles)
Day 3: Returned to Llithfaen you can walk down the pass to the beautiful and isolated valley of Nant Gwrtheyrn, the path snaking down the sheer sides of the valley. The route then continues along the cliffs through wind-stunted oak woodland before reaching chough country and the tiny pilgrim’s church at Pistyll finishing in the seaside village of Nefyn and your new accommodation at the Caeau Capel where your luggage awaits. This is a family run hotel with en suite rooms which serves good evening meals (Distance = 10 miles).
Day 4: Set off along the coast past the celebrated Inn at Porth Dinllaen and some of the best coastal scenery in the UK and on to Porth Oer from where we will pick you up and take you to your new accommodation at the Ship Hotel in Aberdaron, a friendly village inn with en suite rooms, some with sea views (Distance = 15 miles).
Day 5: We will return you to Porth Oer for you to walk around the National Trust owned headland at the tip of the peninsula- stunning views of Bardsey Island- finishing in Aberdaron itself (Distance = 11 miles).
Day 6: Walk to Porth Meudwy not far from Aberdaron and take the Enlli ferry across to Bardsey Island see. This is a beautiful place, full of wildlife and steeped in history. Visitors have three hours to explore before returning to the mainland. The cost is £25 per head payable to the Bardsey Island Trust. You will return circa 3:30pm and can then set off for home. Alternatively there are beautiful walks along the south coast, the NT house Plas y Rhiw, or the delights of Snowdonia to visit.
Day 7: After breakfast we will return you to your car for your journey home, which will give you the chance to sample the delights of Snowdonia.
