Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival transfer, Hotel Sebastian
Day 2: 8 am departure to visit the community of Salasacas. Preparation for the festivity of the Summer Solstice. Briefing of the significance of the many activities of the following day. Overnight at our lodge.
Day 3: We will follow from mid morning the party of the indigenous while they prepare their colorful clothing for the festivity of the following two days. Though we do not participate, you will be able to take pictures and enjoy the activities. Lodging.
Day 4: Today we will prepare our cameras for the most exciting and Colorful festivity in which the 18 mayors and officials along with their parties walk the town of Salasaca celebrating the Solstice. The night will fall on us before the indians retire to their homes. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 5: A second day of festivities however we will only accompany them until mid day. We will have our lunch and head back to Quito, Sebastian Hotel.
Day 6: Very early departure to catch our train to Riobamba, Alausí and finally arrive in Cuenca, the third biggest city of Ecuador. Also home of the finest Inca ruins after Machu Picchu. Overnight Cuenca
Day 7: We join our expert guide who will take us through the city Visiting the attractions, followed by the visit of the Inga Pirca ruins. Today we will have a broad briefing of what will happen the following days on the Inti Raymi festivity. This is a remembrance of one of the Inca's most important celebration. The veneration of the locals to the God Sun was very profound. We will relive this colorful festivity. Lunch on situs and overnight Cuenca.
Day 8: Second day of festivities. As above, Overnight Cuenca.
Day 9: Visit of the Cajas National Park. Lunch and board our plane back to Quito. Hotel Sebastian
Day 10: Visit of the city of Quito, old colonial and Indian architectures, mid equatorial monument, folkloric ballet and dinner in the old town which lit at night is a complete different sight than the one seen in the morning.
Day 11: Flight to Galapagos Islands, board my mid day the yacht of choice.
Day 12: Through day 14 aboard the yacht visiting the many islands and their fauna.
Day 15: Morning excursion and transport to the airport to catch our flight back to Quito, Sebastian Hotel, farewell dinner at El Galpón
Day 16: Transfer to international flight home
