Tour Itinerary
January 15: Arrival in Addis Ababa; welcomed by representative of Priceless Ethiopia Tours; transfer to your hotel and if time permits have a city tour of Addis that includes the National museum, where the oldest hominid Lucy resides, Entoto Panoramic View, and the largest open air market in Africa, Merkato. Overnight Hotel
January 16: Fly to Bahir Dar and check in to your hotel then have boat rides on Lake Tana to visit one of the 14th century island monasteries Ura Kidane Mehiret. In the afternoon, drive to the Blue Nile Falls, 32km each way to see the largest water fall in the country. Overnight hotel
January 17: Fly to Gondar check in to your hotel and in the afternoon visit the castle enclosure. Overnight hotel (3 nights)
January 18: Drive to Kosoye view point to see the marvelous Simien Mountains; and drive back to Gondar and visit Debre Berhane Sellassie church renown for its ceiling paintings. In the afternoon, attend the procession (first day of Timket). Overnight hotel
January 19: In the morning we will attend the Timket ceremony. In the afternoon, we’ll be at leisure. Overnight hotel
January 20: Fly to Axum, and visit the obelisks, the archaeological museum for its prehistoric and historic relics, the 6th century tombs of king Kaleb and his son Gebremeskal, palace of queen Sheba, St. Mary of Zion church, where the original Ark of the Covenant resides. Overnight hotel
January 21: Fly to Lalibela, and visit the first group of the rock hewn churches of Lalibela carved in the 13th century. Overnight hotel (2 nights)
January 22: Optional mule ride to visit Asheten Mariam church (2hrs ride per way). In the afternoon, visit the second group of rock hewn churches. Overnight hotel
January 23: Fly back to Addis Ababa and be transferred to the airport for your final departure. End of our services.
